A Revealing Rally

A Revealing Rally
On Saturday November 10, on a visit to my wife’s friends in South Philadelphia (near the turf immortalized by Rocky), I attended a Ron Paul rally at Independence Mall. By the time the hurried candidate arrived at the scene, at 1:45 PM, the mulling crowds already numbered in the thousands (perhaps tens of thousands); and those who showed up were jumping up and down with Ron Paul signs while chanting the candidate’s name. The attendees were indeed a motley lot. Within about half a square mile I ran into such varied types as a visiting German priest who assured me that we were living in the end times, scads of self-described veterans who expressed anger at the Iraqi war of choice, working class blacks sporting Ron Paul paraphernalia, and immaculately dressed professionals who identified themselves as “paleos.” I had never before encountered such a hodge-podge of humanity packed into so small a space in order to shout their support for a presidential candidate. Despite the media efforts to depict Dr. Paul as a rightwing kook or as an aging anarchist going nowhere, it dawned on me as I was standing there that this candidate is gaining momentum in all sorts of unexpected quarters. In any case he has far more traction than his high-placed adversaries may wish to believe.
In his utterly unpretentious manner and appearance, Ron Paul calls to mind the perpetually disheveled Ralph Nader. Despite their diametrically opposed views about public administration and the role of government, both figures have attracted devoted followers, who seem willing to listen and cheer, while their leaders go on about complicated issues. Neither of these offbeat presidential candidates has shown much PR pizzazz, and in public debates they often sound crotchety and certainly unwilling to suffer journalistic fools gladly. But this has been part of the appeal of these two figures, who come across as honest, public-minded intellectuals. They are the very opposite of Hillary Clinton, who is both scripted and disastrously inept when trying to sound sincere.
Dr. Paul’s followers did not appear disappointed when he spent fifteen laborious minutes noting the structural defects of the Federal Reserve System, an interest that only a minority of those assembled probably cared deeply about. But what really brought them to the tips of their toes were the candidate’s sneering references to the neoconservative instigators of the war in Iraq. Dr. Paul first stated his general principle that “we should neither bomb nor subsidize other countries,” and then added this qualification. “It is not the American people but the neocons who should pay for the war damages.” At that point the crowds went wild, taking up their by now ritualized cheer “Ron Paul, Ron Paul.” Unless I’m mistaken, there was no one in the crowd who did not hate the war but loathed the neoconservatives even more.
This caused me to reflect that whether the next president would be Hillary or the neoconservatives’ favorite Giuliani, neither victor would avoid massive, deep opposition.  One is reminded here of the newly elected Abraham Lincoln, who in 1860 had not won a single vote in any of the Southern states on his way to the presidency. The crowd in which I was mingling at Independence Mall had undoubtedly the same hostile feelings toward Giuliani and more generally toward the Republican Party, which they believed had “betrayed its ideals.” Although I am more skeptical than Ron Paul and his followers that the Republicans, outside of a few noble souls, ever held to such “ideals,” I was struck by the widespread sentiment I encountered that day that the Republicans had abandoned their high principles.
On the way back to Center City, where I was to meet my wife after the rally, I ran into a black Ron Paul couple wearing multiple buttons on their clothes. When I asked them where they had located these treasures, they looked at me with surprise and then explained: “They’re available online but you need a computer if you want to order them.” That confirmed my impression that Ron Paul’s campaign belongs to the computer age. His followers, whatever their race or social origin, reside online. Fortunately the couple was nice enough to sell me two buttons at cost, one of which I wore the next day when I visited a used bookstore on Bainbridge Street, on the South end of Philly. The store owner looked like a decayed hippy still struggling to get home from Woodstock; and he probably had gone through life smoking myriads of joints. When he caught sight of my button, however, he simply slurred the words “he’s a good man.”
That utterance took me aback because it would have been inconceivable that the same person would have supported Ronald Reagan, or even less plausibly Barry Goldwater. But Ron Paul, the morally outraged antiwar constitutionalist, and an obstetrician who had delivered babies in rural Texas, often free of charge, does not strike anyone as a big-business Republican. He is an anti-establishmentarian, a fact that became apparent when my wife’s friend Denise, who would never in a million years consider herself any kind of “conservative,” commented on how much more principled Ron Paul seems in comparison to Hillary and Rudy. That is undoubtedly an integral part of the candidate’s appeal, and it might be why he is becoming a factor in the presidential election. Although I would place my money on the candidates of the national media, the Council on Foreign Relations, public administration and the apartments located on both sides of Central Park to hold on to their government, Ron may soon be giving the power elite cause for concern.

“the next president would be Hillary or the neoconservatives’ favorite Giuliani, neither victor would avoid massive, deep opposition. “

excellent point

<<Ron may soon be giving the power elite cause
for concern.>>

Only for the intelligent, principled voters.

Unfortunately, the vast vast majority of Americans
are neither intelligent, nor principled.

They are stupid and immoral, and will vote
for either Hillary Clinton or Rudy Giuliani, as they
have been instructed to do.

Dr Paul is our best hope for real change.  I disagree with Andrew Capp, people from all walks of life and from varying political backgrounds are in his campaign and what they recognize most is his integrity.  My girlfriend and I are both lifelong Dems and we’re on the RP bandwagon. We’re pretty sure he’ll win in NH, sure hope so.

I didn’t say that intelligent or principled
people don’t come from “all walks of life”.

I stated that the vast vast majority of Americans
are stupid and immoral.

Sir, you and your girlfriend may be coming from
the Democratic Party, you both may be intelligent
and have integrity, but you are by no means the
vast vast majority of Americans.

If you want to see the vast vast majority of
Americans, you must look who is NOT at your Ron
Paul rallies.

THOSE are the people that will be deciding who is
President.

Essentially, what I am saying here is that
democracy doesn’t work, it is, as Hans-Herman Hoppe
has called it, “The God that Failed”.

To quible, it is Hans-HermanN Hoppe, I left out
an “N”.

His competition tend to be either mushy or silly - even when reading from their teleprompter.

Anyone ever remember Ron Paul using a teleprompter?

I am elated to hear that the cradle of Independence Hall may be returning to its roots by celebrating Ron Paul’s candidacy. In my country (Canada), the CBC and other establishment media would have already tarred Dr. Paul as a dangerous rightist.  Otherwise, they would fail to grasp how a “conservative” can oppose the Iraq war, since it is convenient to ignorant Canadian Liberals to equate neoconservatism with conservatism tout court.

Temper your elation, my Canadian friend...the “silent treatment” has been found wanting and the MSM is warming up its leftover, sure-fire smears. The booboisie will line up at the trough and scarf down the swill they are fed...or so the neocons hope.

I pray and I fear.  I pray Paul Gottfried is correct; I fear Andrew Capp is.  For when I go around my town wearing my Ron Paul button, I keep getting the question, “Who’s Ron Paul?” The League of the South has a four step program of insight, a program that I take distilled from our President, J. Michael Hill, in his speech to our national convention in October, 2006.

Step 1: The Yankee Empire, founded by Dishonest Abe, is broken and headed into a crisis followed by its catastrophic collapse.

Step 2.  It can’t be fixed, and its crisis and its catastrophe are a soon-to-be fait accompli.

Step 3.  As awareness of impending doom increases, people will ask what they can do to save themselves.

Step 4.  The League knows what to do.

Paul Gottfried and almost everyone else who writes for this website has taken the 1st Step of insight.  Mr. Capp has taken the 2nd.  I invite others to take this step as well.

So I welcome articles that affirm the 1st Step. Yet I would also welcome debate on 2nd.  And when we accept the 2nd, let’s proceed with the 3rd and start offering advice to people, and let’s start evaluating assorted advice, preferably on a level above calling opponents “infantile”.

Step 4 will be my advice.

In your heart, you know he’s right.

Keep your powder dry.

My hope is that the MSM will suffer a serious bout of conscience when they go to smear Ron Paul.  As they stand poised to destroy an innocent man, maybe the most decent man to ever enter the political arena they will look at themselves in the mirror and see everything that they could have aspired to.  Everything they might have become and everything that might still save this country.  I hope they will then turn on their masters and throw in with the just, that they will turn their hearts from evil.  I am sure many of them even now hope and pray for our eventual success but fear for us knowing the power they serve.

The attempt to ignore Ron Paul by the Mainstream Media will continue, along with the smear campaign currently underway from the Neocon part of the MSM.  The ignoring of Paul is aimed at the vast majority of the population that doesn’t follow politics closely.  The Neocon part of the MSM and its smear campaign is aimed at those on the center right who follow politics but only through “reliable” sources from the perspective of the Neocons and their Left wing allies.

This situation will only change when the Old right or Paleo side gets its own presence in the MSM, via a cable TV channel and/or a major urban newspaper.  Until this happens, even events that one would assume would cause a re-thinking by the populace won’t because the MSM will be able to spin those events in the direction of further Neocon-Leftwing policies, just as they did with 911.

All revolutions, including counter-revolutions, are made by rising classes and unfortunately, most of Paul’s supporters don’t come from the rising class in America.  Even Paul’s tech community support comes from those under assault from imported labor.  The Neocons and their Leftwing allies still represent the rising class, in both power and wealth.

The only weakness of the Neocon-Leftwing class is that it is narrow, with an even more narrowly focused agenda.  This narrowness leaves open the possibility for a very broad coalition in opposition to the Neocon-Leftwing game plan.  What this opposition can achieve is yet to be seen, but we shouldn’t underestimate what opposition can do in the short run.  Just preventing the Neocons from going ahead with its agenda of more wars abroad and more deracination at home can prepare for a more successful counter-revolution.

Ron Paul will no doubt do better than expected because the professional polling organizations haven’t calibrated their questions properly to pick up his support.  But that doesn’t mean he will win or come anywhere close.  While the neo-cons are the intellectual authors of the present series of imperial wars, they are not leading Bush or the American people anywhere the latter don’t want to go.  The majority will not see the light short of an economic or military catastrophe or both - and they may not see it even then.

Isn’t it time that those among us, who have some influence with our fellow Americans, step up to the plate and show those, who are looking for our leadership in other areas, that we think this is important?
Isn’t it time we throw our modesty and “we respect your opinion and politics should not be discussed at the workplace” attitude over board and use our standing to influence others?
I for one will show my support for Ron Paul at work, I will give everyone of my employees a Ron Paul T-shirt and bumper sticker, and I will engage everyone of them in a discussion about the value of liberty and the inheritance they received from the founding fathers.
I will point out to them that their jobs and their way of life are being destroyed by present policies.
I will tell them that their children are being sold into servitude by the present government policies of ever increased national debt.
And I will tell them that it is important to respect the rights of other nations, as we would like to be respected.
As a matter of fact, I am already doing that.
Andy Capp is pessimistic about the outcome, but until we have given it our best shot, we will not know; and I for one am not willing to give up and crawl into a hole and just play the role of the unaffected observer.
As a (legal) immigrant I am not even able to vote, but I owe it to my five American children, my American friends, and the dream of a civilized society of free men (which attracted me to America), to do my utmost to ensure that America, as it was intended by the founders, does not cease to exist.

>Isn’t it time that those among us, who
>have some influence with our fellow
>Americans, step up to the plate and
>show those, who are looking for our
>leadership in other areas, that we
>think this is important?

I agree, but it takes a great deal of subtlety to convince people to change deep seated views/assumptions.  I think just getting up and promoting RP to friends and fellow workers might cause more harm than good if we don’t do it very respectfully and positively.  I think Bob Murphy says it very well here, please pass on the link to other sites if you agree.

Another idea: making and distributing “My case for Ron Paul” DVDs, going in depth in particular issues that the target audience will want to know about?

Li makes a good point.  It is frustrating when I see Ron Paul supporters leaving online comments that are rude.  I do not like to see name-calling from either side of a debate, but especially not my side.  We need to emphasize the “love” in the rEVOLution and ignore rudeness and smears aimed at us.  We need to remain calm and reasoned in our discussions and know when to walk away.  The message of liberty does bring people together.  Let’s not present it in such a poor way that we scare people off.  I personally find the most frustration in this area on YouTube, where many of the younger supporters of Ron Paul spend a lot of time commenting.  I’m not sure how to get them to stop the flaming that goes on.  At any rate, this is an important message that needs to get out.  I second Li’s recommendation of the Murphy article at LewRockwell.com.

I sent ron paul more than 1000 dollars

Just athought some may find interesting -I certainly do. I am a soldier on active duty. Many of my colleagues are intelligent and (by the degraded standards of our times) reasonably well informed. Most of them have never heard of Ron Paul. But when told about him, their faces brighten and, to a man, the response has been “I gotta check this guy out. Whats his website again?” This man has a message that resonates. The truth has, perhaps, finally put its boots on.

If Ron Paul doesn’t become our next president, he will return to his seat in Congress as the most popular member of that body since Davy Crockett. Like Crockett, Paul has become an American folk hero.

Wolfmanmac’s comments are an inspiration to the soul.
Until we exhaust all possibilities of getting the word
out about Ron Paul’s candidacy, we can never dismiss
the eligible voters of the US.  Thanks wolfmanmac.

I and my 14 year old daughter also attended the Rally and I it was exhilerating.  It was great and encouraging to see as you say all different types of people, young college students, young married couples, young married with young children, middle age people like myself, veterans like myself, older people, even a black lady dressed as the Statue Of Liberty.  We are from Philly also and, there are many people from here for Ron Paul.

Thank you for the nicely written article on Dr.Paul.
We must ALL keep spreading the word about this great patriot. Put a sign in your yard, donate, educate freinds, family and strangers alike, and don’t forget to vote in your primary.

Ron Paul is bridging the gap between generations.  I see old guys, like me, wearing their Ron Paul caps talking to young men, wearing their Ron Paul t-shirts.  With Ron Paul, we have an opportunity to solidify around a forgotten American ideal:nonintervention in other nations’ affairs.

I was raised in a Democrat home.  LBJ made me a Republican.  Reagan and Bush I made me an independent.  Ron Paul has caused me to re-register as a Republican again.  The ONLY candidate with integrity.  I’m in Eastern Oregon where the average citizen is totally unaware of Ron Paul but the 4’X4’ sign in my front yard is getting noticed as well as my “RP for Prez” stickered truck.  I can only pray that Americans wake up and insure my grandchildren’s freedom.

I leave nasty comments on forums all the time. Americans SHOULD be angry.

I’m angry at the neocon takeover of my country and BOTH political parties.

Don’t let the enemy define the terms! I’m as mad as hell and not going to take it anymore!

And yes, I’ve become a hater. We all know who is behind a Clinton vs Giuliani race. We all know who controls the gates to any candidacy on either side.

I want my country back. And I refuse to allow the neocon _ _ _ _ to define ME as the hater.

A very nice commentary.  Of all the posts listed here, I believe the Werner Hoermann post memorializes what must be done.  Yes, I support Ron Paul, yes, Ron Paul is our only hope.  However, acknowledging these things is not enough.  We must become active in our support.  Yes, money is important, but we must also be crusaders of the cause, being willing to pound the streets to spread the message.  To be educated on Mr. Paul’s platform as to be able to adequately address any issues or questions that a contact may have about this canidate.  So, I ask all of you to be active and take the chance to spread the word without fear that it might alienate your listeners.

I enjoyed the article, and I am hopeful that if we can maintain the fundraising momentum then the media will give him more attention. When Dr. Paul gets a chance he delivers his message well. There is no need for a teleprompter when you speak from the heart. One of his greatest strengths is his ability to respond quickly and intelligently to any question. Though I may not always agree with his position I never doubt his sincerity. When a politician answers on deeply held convictions there is no reason to waiver. When a politician answers based on the audience or latest opinion poll they will hesitate, side-step the question, backtrack, or contradict themselves. I would encourage those who feel a need to respond viscerally to negative media, blogs or personal encounters to try to emulate our candidates intelligently reasoned responses. If you aren’t capable of that remember that a profanity filled rant is not likely change anyone’s mind or help to get Ron Paul elected. Though the odds may be against Dr. Paul his supporters are clearly motivated, visible, and vocal. Everything depends on the early primary states. If his supporters vote in mass I think his chances are very good because the other candidates seem to get a very apathetic following and a national opinion poll doesn’t mean people will get off their butts to go vote. So you early state voters make sure your registration is in order, get your friends to register republican and carpool to the polls in mass. Those of us in the rest of the country will continue to work on fundraising and positive media attention through our meetup groups and by spreading the gospel of Ron Paul: Limited constitutional federal government, a non-interventionist foreign policy, personal liberty, and personal responsibility.

Once people realize the real gravity of what is TRULY at stake here , they always come around .

To date , I have encountered one bush-bot (giuliani fan) , one thompson fan , and a man that thought Hilary and Obama could truly change it . . . But After some fact telling with references and careful explanation , I was able to convert them to see the light of Ron Paul . .

The media has huge power over it all and we have to “time-warp” ourselves to the time of the original revolution and get the message out at a truly American Human level .

We are not the Sheeple , We Have to Wake Up and realize the power we have . . . We are The Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing - TheIns

I fear that when they can no longer ignore him (and that time is close at hand) they will kill him.  It has happened before, it will happen again.

If you want Ron Paul to win this election and if you care at all about your liberty.. get involved! Join a local Ron Paul meetup group. Go to Google and search for “Ron Paul” meetup ‘your city or town or zip code’

We have to get Ron Paul on the Ballot in every state. Time is running out.

We have to get him nominated on the Republican ticket.

Then we have to get him elected.

There is no other choice.

John Schupp, if they kill him. I, personally, will kill them.

In the August 1997 issue of the magazine GQ, the now late Norman Mailer interviewed Pat Buchanan.  Mailer stated to Buchanan that if Pat had won or was about to win the Republican nomination, he, Mailer, believed Pat would’ve been killed by his opponents.

In 1996, as Pat was doing well in the early primaries, I knew a major Paleo figure advising Pat’s campaign who told me he had warned Pat and his aides that the threat to Pat’s life was real and had to be taken seriously.

The practice of smearing a politician in hyper extreme terms and thus encouraging someone to harm him is not new, especially to the Left and the Neocons.  There is the case of PM Rabin in Israel, and the smears against him before he was killed.  And there was Pim Fortyn in Holland.

I hear about an upcoming recession. Pain is a
valid teacher and when they are sitting at home
laid off or fired, they will ask question about
how it happened.

A politician cannot stand up to a straight talker.
If he wins the nomination, he won’t be stopped.

It is not surprising Ron Paul is doing so well.
People have seen through the flip flops of the
other candidates as they try to appeal to one
group after another.  We know once they get in
office with our votes they owe allegiance only
to the ruling elites who have financed them. People
still respect a man or woman who has principles and
a philosophy - why, because they are honest. Ron Paul
is honest.

The man says it himself. “It’s not about me. It’s the message.” To be human is to be hopeful. Texas voters have sent Dr. Paul back to congress ten times. He has not brought his district one scrap of bacon. The Democrats in Texas don’t even bother to run against him anymore. The voters know he is not a political insider and THAT is why he will be reelected to congress forever.

Americans have been, particularly recently, made miserable by the federal government. An observer might think that Ron Paul will be elected on some distant group moral principals.

“Folks” are going to vote in this election. These folks don’t know who John Maynard Keanes is. They aren’t intellectuals. Folks know that Ron Paul is NOT a member of the ruling class.

I suggest the best way for the folks to get revenge on the miserable federal government is to send the only man who can truly make all of the federal government miserable.

Electing Ron Paul is an eloquent “up yours” from the folks to the ruling class.

You get hit enough times..you hit back. Not all that complicated.

I am a 77 year old grandmother who dearly loves her
family and Country. In forty years I have never felt
it made any differnce which side you voted for you got
the same results.  I registered as a voter and Ron
Paul is getting my time, my efforts and my money. It’s
my only hope for my family and my Country.  May God
protect and guide this man.

Thank you for the very interesting article!

“Unfortunately, the vast vast majority of Americans are neither intelligent, nor principled.” This is the conventional view, and there is a lot to back it up. But what’s different now is the moment, brought on by the excesses of the neocon regime. Ron Paul himself was surprised his message is now going so far, when it hadn’t for decades. It’s like the American people were asleep, but finally they are waking up. Yes, they are flawed, but we are all flawed as well. Yet we Ron Paul supporters managed to wake up. Many others will too, enough I believe to win. It’s different, this time around. You can feel it in the air.

We need buttons, bumper stickers, and lots of them. Put Dr. Pauls name in the face of every American. Also, we should have DVDs which plainly and simply state Dr. Paul’s views. Tell your friends about Juliani’s cross dressing. Tell everyone to read about 911 facts and questions. This is probably our last chance to save this country.  Nuclear war is a distinct possibility given Neocon ruthlessness. Wall street sees world domination within it’s grasp. Pray to God they fail and miserably. Pray for the world’s children. Cut the US military budget in half twice. Talk to Moscow and Peking. Again, this may be our last chance as free Americans.

Dr. Paul is the best candidate I have seen in 45 years of observation. Already I have contributed more money to his campaign than during my entire life. Looking forward to doing my part in the December 16 “money bomb’. If he is not ellected , we all got a problem.

Gary P,

I’m in the same boat as you.  I had never given to a candidate before Ron Paul.  I also find myself buying signs, bumper stickers, buttons, slim Jims, and a hat.  I have never felt so good spending money.  I am like a kid in a candy store on the official Ron Paul site.  I am looking to put together a meet up group.  It’s exciting to see what some dedicated people can do if they stop believing that you have to vote for the lesser of two evils.

Thanks for the article, nice job.
I’m sick of hearing that he can’t win, don’t waste your vote.

I love to read posts following a sympathetic article about Ron Paul from a bona fide media outlet.  The people making comments are sincere.  They are genuine.  They explaim themselves and their viewpoints in a way that cannot be faked - not in this diversity and number.  I have seen a few repeated “canned” comments in praise of Paul, but not very often.  More often, you can just about smell dinner cooking at the writer’s home…

Most of my friends and associates are strongly evangelical, and that has washed over into their political attitudes.  These are folks who were looking to Brownback, then Huckabee, and now maybe Thompson to represent them.  They believe in the war because they were told it was a just war, and they feel strongly that our nation should support Israel.  They fear that backing down will send a message of weakness on a civilizational level.  I understand that position, but I deeply abhor the horrendous violence we have perpetrated.  We have sunk to the level of our enemies.

One last comment, to all those evangelicals who might read this.  In researching Dr. Paul’s positions, I looked at a paper he wrote and entered into the Federal Register about how we are slipping away from the Constitution.  This was in 1999 or so - long before he was running for president this time.  In the paper he talked about God and God’s place in the national framework (remember “endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights...” from the Declaration?).  Here’s what I want to say:  when nothing was at stake politically, Ron Paul talked about God as if He were in the next room.  Now, when everything is at stake, he has not made God and religion a big blown-up issue of any kind, as if to reassure all Americans that he will represent them regardless of their religious views or lack thereof.

This man deserves the support of every thoughtful person, religious or un.

One of the things

Help us, Obi Ron Paul Kenobe, you’re our only hope.

Philly loves the underdog.

If CFR/Mossad wastes RP, there WILL BE angry Americans in the streets, I can guarantee them.  As the Russians say, “Ruki proch’ Ran Pol!” (Hands off Ron Paul!)

A Paul victory might be the only way that humans win...the rest of the candidates arent very human or humane.

Hi America,

I was a little worried there for a while that the rest of us (The world that is, allies included) would have to invade your country and slaughter your evil dictators. If your blood sucking leaders keep pulling us all down we’re going to have to cut you lose. Do us all a favour and set the weights adrift and bring on the life preserver so we don’t all drown!

Cheers.

I had been a long time supporter of Dennis Kucinich.  Last election he threw his votes to a skull and boner.  Well, that was the end of that for me.  I have followed Dr. Paul since after 9/11 when he warned us about the Patriot Act saying it paved the way for police state.  He always was consistent in his thinking and principals.  I so admire this ‘real’ American.  Such a relief.  When I found out he was running for president this past spring, I was hopeful.  But as we can see what happens when we finally have someone who is intelligent for the right reasons. He is not scripted, owned by any organization, or has skeletons in the closet.  Zionist/Bilderberg media have blocked him out as though he does not exist.  The electorate college will try to see to it that he is not included in debates.  He is simply ‘a good man’.  He will get my vote and my money.  We need another ‘revolution’ to reclaim our Constitution and our military.  Don’t forget December 16 anniversay of the Boston Tea Party.  Give as much as you can to his campaign and Godwilling if it is meant to be, he may be our next President!

All this talk on Ron Paul not having a real chance of becoming Pres sounds like talk right out of the 60’s when we heard that a Irish Catholic would not get the nod for the Democratic party. The black horse that didn’t have a prayer, as we all know that did not pan out. If the country listened to J.F.K then we must get the word out out to all our friends, relatives, co-workers or anyone who will listen. We the people of our country need to take a lesson from our history and fight these neo-con and the current regeme’.We need to fight to get Ron Paul in the white house. Keep a positive and we can win.

Ron Paul has a good old country doctor bedside manner. Back in the 70s I knew many doctors like him. We are trained as children to respond to that manner - it means healing. He uses it in his political interviews. But one must note how well he was treated on the first line of big media shows he appeared on - the first ones mind you. And one must note how easily he was allowed to slip in to the pack in debates and big media. Of course now things in the media appear to be slightly tightening up for him. But the question is when he is not chosen to lead the Republican Party where will all those unspent funds go? Now open your mouths and say ‘Ahhhhhh’.

I refuse to vote for any CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) member.

The CFR wants the NAU (North American Union), the plan to merge:  Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.  Apparently, Robert Pastor cooked up this plan.

With that will come the NAFTA Superhighway.

Also, probably the reason our DOLLAR is taking the deep plunge is to impose the AMERO on us (Mainstream Media refuses to talk about this --but glibly states how nice it is for our economy for tourists to come over and take advantage of the devaluating dollar).

Q: Finally with this NAU, what happens to OUR CONSTITUTION?

Ron Paul is an honest man. He has integrity. This cannot be said for either Hillary “Whitewater, Vince Foster, Cocaine money-laundering, sexually immoral to the same degree as her husband” Clinton, or Rudy “made wise guy, bribe-taking, money-laundering, organized-crime connected, will-expand-torture-and-destroy civil-liberties” Giuliani. I will vote for the honest man, even if I do not agree with all of his positions.

I have been trying (for at least a year) to convince others to pay attention to the message of Ron Paul, who is the only real decent patriot in the running. He can be our saviour. I agree that our “camp” should avoid profanities and faul language toward other candidates, but we should pinpoint perhaps in some sort of a table a differences (in line by line subjects), so that unconvinced/uninformed can easily clearly see Ron Paul’s superior ideas against all of his potential opponents.. Apart from that we should be sending millions of e-mails to “our” corporate media outlets demanding decent treatment of Ron Paul and giving him same amount of exposure as to all other “leading” candidates.
Those that have direct access to dr. Ron Paul should encourage him to to question his opponents with short, clear questions demanding quick and clear answer, instead of giving speaches to them (like he did recently questioning Mr. Bernanke, giving him just way too much time just to listen instead of answering in a vague way)

I fear that this is the entire world’s last chance.  The blowback that the US has created is getting out of control, the failing US dollar requires more war to prop up $ hegemony, big brother is snowballing everywhere, neo-cons are taking a foothold in the English-speaking world, military rule seems likely in the US and elsewhere, the farcical nature of money is spinning out of control, coming to a conclusion in the required blow-up which allow the resetting of th equation which can never add up.  If it’s not Ron Paul, then there is a continued move to war, famine, depression and the NWO.

May I state that I am a Ron Paul supporter.  With that
said would it be fair to ask all of you this
question, “Is the Ron Paul Revolution teaching us
us something?”

It seems as though the whole world yeanrs for what he
is teaching Americans or reteaching may I say.

If trajedy strikes, God forbid, the RP Revolution
will go on! Not only will it go on it will transfigure
into a firestorm of unstoppable proportions.  Remember
what he has taught us.  The RP Revolt is not about Ron
Paul its about truth, freedom, and a revival of the
national spirit of civility and justice.

A note to those abroad.  Please forgive America for
our mistakes and the injuries that may have personally
affected you. Americans are good people.  Those
who support Ron Paul are living proof.  More Americans
will join his ranks many more.  Please don’t give up
on Americans.  If there is no forgiveness in your
heart than so be it, but someday you will need
forgiveness.  My father once said that the greatest
virtue of humankind is forgiveness.  He was and is
right.  The powerbrokers don’t want you to forgive
because forgiveness breaks their power!  Division is
their is name and power is their game.

Is there one man/woman/child in this world who does
not succumb or struggle with selfishness, resentment,
pride, hatred, lust and all of the other infirmities
suffered by mankind? Nations suffer the same!  I see
no perfect nation all fall short though some nations
fare better than others.  For those of you who have
conquered life’s evil challenges come forward and lead
by example.  Join Ron Paul and lead.

I do not express myself very well, but I hope all will
respond to the spirit of my feeble attempt to help.

Nixon one said, “In the primary run far to the right,
then move to the center for the general election”.
Ron Paul is out there to get people excited about
republicans. The republicans won’t let him run. I will
believe Ron Paul when he leaves the republicans and
runs as a Libertarian.

Paul couldn’t win as a Libertarian. Libertarians are too extreme to satisfy the masses.

Paul is the perfect transistionalist. He understands where we are, where we need to be and most importantly how to get there.

His Presidency will be about getting us back to zero. About getting us back to a Constitutional Republic. Getting us back to 1912, before we got shafted by the bankers.

Lincoln, Jackson and Kennedy all opposed the bankers.

This election is about getting rid of Democracy and restoring the Republic of personal rights, ownership and government.

The government DOES NOT OWN US, we own the government… lest we forget.

I think Dr Paul’s attempt to focus on the Federal Reserve is the most important and the most misunderstood point that he makes.
Even Mr Gottfried seems a little uncertain why Dr Paul spends 15 minutes on the Fed. Please Search “money as debt” and watch the Google video to begin to understand how hopeless our situation is without monetary reform.

Any other viable candidate is suicide for this country.

Of course, he has my support, but when you oppose the platform of the shadow government (Lincoln and his greenbacks, Kennedy and his US notes, Paul and his desire to moonlight the Fed Reserve)…

...you end up dead.

I expect this country is already a qhite-washed corpse.  But, how the near future handles Paul will be the proverbial final nail in the coffin has been housing this morally dead country for decades.

Ron Paul --OR-- Revolution!!!

For the very life of me I cannot understand the fervor and excitement that is evident in nearly all of the above comments about this wonderful man. I say this because Ron Paul has been dedicated, for his whole career in the Congress to part and parcel of the Liberty Amendment. He has repeatedly introduced it totally and in parts to the House for their consideration and debate. Unfortunately, but not unexpected, these efforts were met with little or no success. He has done an absolutely unparalleled job in introducing many bills, some with success, to recover our freedom and liberty and protect our sovereignty. But, unfortunately, since these are all temporary acts of Congress , even if and when they are passed they are subject to the counter acts of an opposing change of majority in Congress.
But, what I believe he is saying now, and I am sure we would all like to believe it possible, is that with the power of that office he could ultimately get the provisions of the Liberty Amendment implemented, and give our Constitution back its full force and effect.. What I am saying is that if he were by a miracle to become elected as President, he would still be faced with the same power mongers in Congress who are unwilling to voluntarily give one inch of their unconstitutional powers back to the people or to the States. The only way they will ever be forced to give up those powers and activities that they are now and have been unconstitutionally exercising for a long time, is to have the States demand that these powers be returned. And the states obviously are not going to do this unless the people themselves force them to demand that they be returned.
My point is this. I like many of those above will vote for Ron Paul, if we get a chance, no matter if he gets on the ballot or if we have to write him in. But he will not be able to turn this government around or even slow it down if we don‘t find some way to generate the same enthusiasm for the drive to get THE LIBERTY AMENDMENT RATIFIED AND IMPLEMENTED. This has not happened during the past three years since the attempt has been made to generate such enthusiasm.  http://www.libertyamendment.org
This site, with an approach to win this war, has generated a lot of socialist whinning, but little effort of the pen, no money required. So, if we get this patriot of our heritage elected, we better keep in mind our job has only begun.

I read comments ubove that state that Ron Paul cannot win because the masses will vote for the one they are told to vote for.

I have to disagree with this idea because of the numbers. This argument could be true if this was the actual election but it is a primary, and only 5 to 10 percent of the registered voters even vote. We Ron Paul supporters are pulling in people hand over fist. As a few have posted I too find that when I tell people about him they get a sparkle in their eyes and they also get excited.

Simply put the people who’s apathy has been cured by Ron Paul will dig their way to the voting booth on primary day, while the masses will sit at home not knowing or realizing that we are picking the next president for them. And next year we will hear “How did this guy get on the ballot”.

I do not claim that my town is representative of the country but in Peapack/Gladstone NJ 50% of the houses my wife and I went to for ballot signatures were not just for Ron Paul but very enthusiastically for Ron Paul.

So in my opinion, from my experience Ron Paul has allready won NJ and we have not started the advertising yet.

the republicans will “NEVER” give ron paul the nod. they didnt give it to teddy roosevelt when he won every republican primary. the endorsed taft. my money goes to ron paul though. at least we will be able to say we really tried through peaceable means.
