It must be terribly wrenching to Tony Blair, who is retiring under a cloud, that what he had perceived as Britain’s special relationship with the United States counts for almost nought by contrast with what the Israeli government and too many Americans count as the really important one.  The Israels tail has been wagging the American dog in a most destructive way of late.  American support of Israel reminds one of Germany’s support of Austria-Hungary in 1914.  But of course that sort of thing can’t happen again.  Or can it?

Honestly, I never even thought about this stuff until the Iraq war started, and then I saw that the whole thing was a fraud and I started to wonder how such a thing could have happened.

Since then it has been like peeling an onion where each layer gets more and more unpleasant.

Also, when I try to explain it to some people they just don’t want to hear it.

They would prefer not to know.

Much of what is happening now has happened in the past.  Alfred Lilienthal, a non-Zionist Jew, in 1953 wrote What Price Israel that still provides an emetic to propaganda that has not changed for half a century.  Rabbis Stephen Wise noted that he had been an American for 63 of his 64 years, but a Jew for 4000 years.  His sense of proportion is still observed by the majority of American Jews.

David Ben-Gurion told all Zionists that their loyalty to Israel superseded any obligations to their country of residence.  Jews have manipulated public opinion on behalf of Israel for more than a century.  David Ben-Gurion told C.L. Sulzburger, long time foreign affairs columnist of the New York Times, (An Age of Mediocrity, p448) that when meeting a grateful John Kennedy admitted his debt to Jews by stating he owed his election to the “Jews of New York”.  Then the sainted JFK asked Ben-Gurion what was it he could do for Israel. Later Ben-Gurion lectured Sulzburger that there were two very different kinds of nations on the earth.  In the first category were nations which only took from other nations and gave very little if anything in return.  These nations were extremely self-centered and selfish.  Mr. Ben-Gurion placed the United States in this category.  In the other category were countries which with no concern for return of favors would benefit all humanity by their flowering and by their culture which they magnanimously would bequeath to the rest of the world.  Mr. Ben-Gurion placed Israel in this category.  Mr. Ben-Gurion had asserted there was no meaning in life in Britain, France and the United States, but there was meaning in Israel.  One of the most notable characteristics of the culturally confident Jew has been extreme generosity in providing advice and direction to those they consider less gifted and capable.  One should not be surprised to find Israeli Jews along with the New York variety considering Americans, not so much as stupid, as lucky to be chosen from all the peoples on earth to contribute to the Israeli nation where heaven on earth, or as close as an omniscient God may allow, will be built.  This was to be accomplished according to Mr. Ben-Gurion by having the finest army in the world and by Jews of Israel having “moral superiority”.  Sigmund Freud speculated on the historical trait of Jews assuming they were more noble than their neighbors and surmised this trait may have contributed to the unpopularity of Jews among their neighbors.

Criticism of Jews will not be tolerated by the makers of American opinion.  In September 1941 Charles Lindbergh increased his venom and started to blame “The British, the Jews, and the Roosevelt administration” for agitating for war.  The politically correct hyenas of that era howled over that speech.  Fellow members of the America First movement led the way.  John T. Flynn, head of the New York chapter, publicly rebuked Lindbergh.  In a private letter to Lindbergh Flynn admitted to his distress.  The anti-Semites of his chapter had been delighted.  Later after a private conversation Lindbergh wrote in his private journal that Flynn thought as strongly as he that Jews were in the forefront of pushing the country to war.  Flynn was agreeable to discussing the matter in small private conversations.  But, Lindbergh surmised that Flynn would rather see the United States in war before bringing the matter to a public debate.  Norman Thomas, the lion of American socialism, regarded most of what Lindbergh said to be largely true and much of the criticism of Lindbergh to be “insincere and hypocritical”.  Thomas a decade later would determine that the Arabs of Palestine had a legitimate complaint of Hitlerism.  Lindbergh had noted in his diary of a successful threat by Jewish advertising firms to withhold placements from a radio network unless a proposed program was withdrawn.  The threat worked and the program was not run. 

I hope this forum may provide an airing of the dishonest reporting by the national media and the need for a huge shift in policy in the Middle East.

Lilienthal took care to note the adventures of David Niles, a key figure in Israel’s statehood.  Niles first appeared in FDR’s presidency and became the first Jewish Ambassador to the White House.  After staying on under Truman, Niles became more brazen in his actions.  After a leak of classified documents to Israel Omar Bradley reportedly told Harry he would have to choose between Niles and Bradley.  Shortly thereafter Niles resigned and took a trip to Israel, one must suspect to be debriefed.

It is a well known fact that Jews are by far the richest ethnic group in America on a per capita basis. and have been for generations.  Jews account for at least a fifth of all millionaires and billionaires although just 2% of the population.  Look, for example, at the fabulous sums earned by Goldman Sachs partners and hedge fund managers—so many of whom are Jewish.

Note that despite this huge wealth the Israel lobby has by fair means and foul forced American taxpayers to subsidize Israel-- a relatively prosperous country—to the tune of many billions of dollars annually in grants and subsidized loans.

The Jewish community is rich enough to carry this burden itself but keeps laughing all the way to the bank while hard pressed American taxpayers continue to subsidize Israel year in and year out with lavish sums.

If the Jewish community wants to subsidize Israel they should do it themselves and not add to the horrendous deficits facing the American economy.

This is an issue that would resonate with the public if any politician had the guts to bring it up IMHO.

Taki is correct.  I remember reading this in the Washington Times some months ago.  I believe it was in a column by Arnaud de Borchgrave. Israel really is the fifty-first state.

And to think this same state attempted to sell the Red Chinese American AWACS technology.
