He’s a Uniter, Not a Divider

Posted by Justin Raimondo on January 30, 2008

Matt Yglesias has it right:

“Whatever else happens in 2008, one thing that’s certain is that Rudy Giuliani won’t be elected president. That’s something I’m thankful for. And, based on the results, I think it’s something that virtually everyone in America can be thankful for—something that can unite Americans across the cultural divide. From Red America to Blue America, everywhere but the Commentary office and the foreign policy wing of the American Enterprise Institute, we stand proud tonight as a nation that refuses to be governed by Rudy.”

I don’t think a Giuliani Presidency was
ever intended. He’s just running interference
to push McCain to the right.
All of these guys are leftist dictators,
Rudy was just the scariest.
Any Republican that would deride Dr.Paul
(all of them) is obviously out of touch
with conservative values.

I don’t know that Giuliani would be any worse
than McCain.
McCain is a Patton looking for a war.
He seriously wants to hurt someone.

When these bipartisan cranks are done with the lapsed Republic, about the only gainful employment left will be as a squeegee jockey.

The entire country will be reamed through and through, recalling the tawdry pleasures of 42nd and 10th avenue pre-Rudy and his Junkie Jihad. At that point, the people will be baying for a Rudy Figure to come in and finish the job started by this current Executive. Welcome to Weimar Fer Dummkopfs.
Luis Vuitton Wheelbarrows will be all the rage.

Very witty.

Rudy would have been a disaster.

McCain, with his ‘less jobs - more wars’ will also be a fiscal and economical disaster.

outside of his foreign policy i liked rudy.  he did the impossible in NYC.  definatly left more of a mark there than romney or huckabee did in their states.

this political season is a coral reef looking for a ship out in a storm.

ron paul is a beacon of sanity in the midst of a temptest.

I pride myself on being able to spot the writer on Taki Top Drawer.  Many of those unfortunately are a cause to stop reading right there.  A notable exception is the witty dirk who I would actually pay to read.  Justin too of course.  Rudy as a uniter is hilarious.  Something great has already come out of this election.  The Republicans are now one third less stupid then previously believed.  If you are reading this Taki I implore you to make make a full service news site.  I would pay to never feel the need to look on the local news, CNN, or Fox.  I would pay a lot to avoid their ridiculous paid infomercial brand of news.  I even pledge to sell subscriptions.  There aree millions of Ron Paul supporters who feel the same.

That is a capital D for Dirk.  I’m typing blind here.
