Jimmy and Jerusalem
“Unprecendented Israel snub for Jimmy,” screams the New York Post. Echoed by all three candidates, I might add, all three with a crippling and chronic reluctance to let Israel feel the rough edge of their tongue. It is called Realpolitik--utter a word against Likud policy and retire to your farm for the duration. This applies to all politicians in the United States--remember Charles Percy and William Scranton, two long ago politicos who dared to criticize and retired to their farms in turn.
I was never a fan of Jimmy Carter while he was in office--especially after a dinner I attended a few years back after he had left Washington, and heard him give us a brief speech in which he mentioned his wife every sentence or two. But his heart has always been in the right place. The idea that Jimmy is anti-Israel is as ludicrous as the fact that the neocons put America first in their geo-political thinking.

Carter, whatever his political ideology was correct. He didnt hate the Semites, he only wanted to stop the thousand year old violence. It makes no sense for mankind to destroy mankind.

The Israeli government did not only snub the former president it attempted to endanger his life. The nation that America lavshly protects refused security co-ordination with Carter’s secret service guards. The Israeli intent was likely that an Arab assassin would get through. This is a typical Israeli false flag ploy, enable a crime by another.
If the American people had a lick of sense they wouuld accord the Israelis the exact same protection that Caarter received, nada. The callous, arrogant brutality of the zionist entity was never more evident. All the world save Americans, blinkered by a zionist media, sees it and laughs at us.

If it weren’t for Carter, Bush would be the worst President ever.
Israel was perfectly within its rights not to provide protection for that execrable buffoon.
Israel certainly did not invite the nitwit and the Bush administration certainly did not send the nitwit.
As usual, when he is not helping to construct a Habitat for Humanity home, Carter busies himself wrecking common sense.
I will conceded his heart is, literally, in its right place.

Spartacus you usually have more sense than that. Carter has been trying to bring peace to Israel Palistine for over 30 years. He was a terrible president in many ways. However he deregulated the airlines and phone companies and did get a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel. He is dead on in calling what the Israeli’s are doing now as Apartheid. At least he is trying to bring peace which is more than all neocons of the Bush administration is doing.

Carter - high time he did something truthful and useful.
HIGH time the monstrous Israhell got out of Palestine - altogether.
The have NO right to be there at all.
If they want to stay - because no one else will want them - they will have to learn to behave with respect towards the rightful owners of the land and they will have to accept ONE state with one vot e for each and every person in it.
Anything else would be immoral, absolutely immoral. Unless you think it is alright to steal the house and the garden adn the land and everything else from another. If you do then expect the same to happen to you - perhaps sooner than you expect.
Read The Controversy of Zion by Douglas Reed and you will understand why it is important to put an end to this illegal occupation.
Also, read “Seeds of Deception.”
It is becoming urgent.

Funny - they like to portray Carter as a poetry-writing wimp and a feckless liberal. Turns out, he’s been the only pol over several decades with the guts and the morality to stand up for America by rejecting the Zionist hate machine. Compare his postions with that of the RNC/DNC quislings. Despite any other shortcomings, Carter is the last patriot left on the national stage.

Spartacus says it all,and shows what great haters the Zionists really are..and what loud and bullying people they are too ..is the word “chuzpah”!!..Jimmy Carter is a man of principle and unlike the US zionists is a real patriot for the USA,,the Zionists have only one loyalty..and that’s not to the USA,but to that small agressive, beligerant, state in the Middle East which is the focus of all their actions.!!

Jack. I prolly am guilty of attributing to Mr. Carter motives somewhat less pristine than do you.
The idea he can just insinuate himself into “negotiations” - minus an invite from both sides - is an idea which itself calls into question his judgment - and motives.
Of course terrorists delight in such useful idiots and would never, like the killer rabbit did, desire to cause him harm so when Israel refused security to the man, they were perfectly justified in doing so.
He is a busybody scold. When he is not publicly trashing his own So. Baptist Convention he is running around the M.E. like the fool he is.
If anyone did this to him while he was President he’d have been, justifiably, angry.
You noted the Peace Treaty he helped negotiate. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow also, he will be running his mouth demanding Israel accede to his personal opinions which are opposed to the very treaty he got the Peace Prize for. He is a liar or an idiot. Both?

Spartacus: I kind of like old Carter sticking his nose in. Anybody that can get the focus on Israel’s actions in Palistine is doing God’s work. When you see that Iraq is costing us 3 trillion dollars. We could give every Jew in Israel a half million to settle somewhere else.

The statement that Israel is within its rights to refuse former President Carter protection is correct in a petty, hateful Talmudic way. But as an American nationalist I expect respect for this nation from all other nations, and more so from a client state that plays its national anthem by endlessly rattling a tin cup.
The refusal was an insult to every American, not only Carter. To defend the action, or inaction, is to give Israeli arrogance a higher value than the common curtesy due any American of Carter’s stature, whatever one’s personal opinion of the particular American. Not being a fan of Jimmy Carter does not lead me to endorse insulting him, as it does Spartacus who seems to think Americans must be content to mutter something about it being rainy when faces have been spat upon. Assumong Spartacus is American he should be offended. If he is a zionist his position is comprehensible, though rude in a way that Israelis specialize in.

Jimmy Carter has made a far better ex-President than he was as President. He is absolutely right about trying to establish a link with Hamas. Either we deal with these people and achieve a truce or better, or we try to wipe them off the face of the earth. The peace Israel wishes is the kind one enjoys after all of one’s enemies are dead. Should all of Israel’s enemies be exterminated? Would that mean exterminating all Muslims? Well, what the heck, there are only ca. 1.3 billion of them. Why not go for the gold?

My God people, who pissed in your coffee. What an absolutely hateful diatribe. Israel is and
always has been the most tolerant place in the middle east. Most of you Israel haters seem to have
missed some central points in their whining. First of all, Israel in its original much smaller form
was attacked by a troika of Arab countries with the intent of “driving the Jews into the sea”. This
was before Israel included the West Bank and Gaza. In fighting of this unexpected attack, Israel
managed not only to drive the Arabs back but take Gaza and the West Bank in the process. It made clear
to its neighbours that these territories would be returned only after an iron clad promise not to continue
any more such pathological attacks on the Jewish entity. Israel never received such promises and
so it continues to hold these lands.
Also, how exactly can Americans of good concious tell Israel to return “Arab land” when they themselves
occupy Native-Indian land. Its fair to say that American Indians are in a far more demoralized state than
the Palestinians. Have you checked the rate of alcoholism in these communities lately. The Indians
unlike the Palestinians have no other country to go to. There does however exist a Palestinain state
it is called Jordan.
And finally, me thinks that most haters on this sight, don’t like the Jews for one reason. Envy. The
chosen people have excelled in every field of endavour--and that doesn’t sit well with some. I’ve read
Taki’s articles in the past where he extols the superiority of Europeans over Asians and Africans.
And while this may not be politically correct, it is factually correct. However, when you apply the
same arguments and include Jews into the mix, you have a different outcome, where the Semites
come tops. This is a simple basic fact, whether you look at the number of Doctors or lawyers or
Nobel Laureats that this community produces vis-a-vis Euro-Christians. While simple Jew bating is
an awful enough, the hypocricy of a white Christian looking down at Africans and Asians while loathing
Jews for their success, is breathtaking.

Mr.Glick: you are living in a fantasy world. You treat your Arab Israeli citizens worse than we treated our black citizens under segration. You treat the Palistinains in the territories and Gaza worse than Hitler treated your people in Germany prior to WW2. The worst pogrom in prewar Germany was Kristalknacht 1938,about a hundred Jews died. The Israelis kill that many in most Months. Give the Palistinians their freedom or give all Palistinians under your control full civil rights and reparations for 60 years of murder and theft. They deserve hundreds of billions of reparations no matter what. Carter, Bishop Tutu, and Nelson Mandela have rightly compared your treatment of Arabs as Apatheid.

Objecting to current U.S. policy toward Israel is not (necessarily) anti-semitic.
There are a very few smart, evil people who are taking advantage of a bunch of well-meaning ignorant people
to further their neocon ideology.
Israel is an important ally to the U.S., but obviously our interests are not always the same. An ideal U.S. policy would not be unconditional support, but even uttering this simple fact is politically hazardous today.
Kudos to Taki for having the courage to tell the truth.

I’d take all these critics more seriously if half of them didn’t wear Che Guevara t-shirts and if the other half didn’t make a cult figure of another terrorist leader, Nelson Mandela. I’d not favor dealing with the Mandelas and Viet Cong too, but at the same time I’d hold Hamas to the same standard. The “way you play the game” matters, and all civilized nations should renounce the common tactics of terrorists: kidnappings, deliberate attacks on civilians, etc.

Jack,
Israel left Gaza better off than when it captured then land in 1967. It buit infrastructure, school and hostpitals. Thanks to Mort Klien, Israel “settlers” even left Green houses for the Arabs to use.
The Green houses were torn downs and the site used to launch rockets.
The boarders were used to launch attacks into more of Israel.
Israel responded by closing the borders, as any country would. However, it still supplied electricity and food.
However, food shipments from Egypt were replaced by arms shipments and further attacks ensued.
The Gazans elected war by voting for Hamas.

As a Vermont crank, I am well pleased with Israel’s response to he who holds no political position in this administration. Israel treated him like the nitwit uninvited busybody scold he is.
If more former presidents were accorded that treatment, we’d all be capable of judgments saner than the ones displayed by the hate Israel First crowd.
So what if he was president? He was, are the key words.
He is not a Palestinian. He is not an Israeli. He is an uninvited foreigner presuming to intervene in the affairs of a sovereign State.
What the hell is wrong with all of you?
Can you imagine the reactions of America if Desmond Tutu arrived here uninvited and announced to the world he was going to negotiate reparations for slavery with George Bush and Maxine Waters and then meet with Russell Means and Sec. Interior Dirk Kempthorne to try and pressure America to return (pick the State) to the injuns.
If I were in the Administration, I’d pull his Passport and refuse to let him back in the country for at LEAST six months because he is negotiating with a terrorist organisation.
I’d make the bastard beg to get back here and then once he got back, I’d prosecute him for negotiating with terrorists.

Israel exists let it do so without American money going to a religous state in violation of the 1st,5th, and 14th amendments. Do you think any American institution or state would get any federal funds with the abominable record of Israel on civil liberties. The whole leadership of Israel and their neocon stooges in this country belong in prison. What I really hate about Israel is that they have bribed most of the American government with our money. The Saudi’s Syrians and the Palistinians have all offered Israel a reasonable peace for many years. The only problem for Israel is it could no longer keep stealing. It would have to follow the words of Jesus “love your neighbor.”

Really? Israel is expanding? Israel has given up the Sinai to Egypt, part of the West Bank to Jordan. Under US and Eurabian pressure, Israel sold out Southern Christian Lebanon to Hezbollah. Israel has given up all of Gaza and is negotiating how much of the West Bank and what part, if any, or Jerusalem to give up.
“The left is right on Israel and plenty of real consevatives think Israel is the cancer destroying this country. “
So you think that all nation-states should be destroyed and we should let the Third World rule via racial marxism. Or do you just support Jihad?

I agree about not subsidizing Israel. However, I have yet to see you speak of subsidies for other countries, only Israel. Egypt has a far worse record than Israel on human rights, but we hear nary a peep.
“The whole leadership of Israel and their neocon stooges in this country belong in prison.”
Democratizing the Middle East, IE creating an Islamic Calphate by election isn’t in Israel’s interest or ours. Neocons aren’t Zionists any more than they are true American nationalists.
“What I really hate about Israel is that they have bribed most of the American government with our money.”
That’s new. Israel and Israeli citizens can’t donate. American Zionists do donate. Of course so do other lobbies including the Oil lobby, the Islamic and Arab lobbies, anti-Zionists of all stripes including communists. Israel may pressure the US but so does the Arab wold and EUrabia.
“The Saudi’s Syrians and the Palistinians have all offered Israel a reasonable peace for many years. “
Only if reasonable means Israel gives up all disputed territory and accepts millions of Arabs, which will end a Jewish majority, in return for a 10 year Truce (Hudna). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hudna

The fact that Gazans were far richer than their former Egyptian brethren in 1987, thanks to Israeli is ignored. That things only changed after terrorism is ignored.

I would give Israel a lot more slack in how they deal with Hamas IF they and their supporters did not demand to have the US be their benefactor.
I do not like wars like Iraq and Iran and Israel’s actions inflame and incite conflict with the Araba world - conflict that the US would not get dragged into absent Israel.

On the point of “America subsidizing Israel”, lets be clear about one thing. Jews probably
pay more tax than anyother group of Americans, on a percapita basis. Furthermore, Jews have
contributed more to the US economy than anyother group, through their ability to create wealth.
Jews have innovated more ideas in science, technology and the arts than probably all other groups
combined. Companies created or managed by Jews in the US today generate billions of dollars, which
all helps the US to be the strong country that it is. So does America subsidize Israel, I think not.
The reality is that the largish Jewish diaspora which makes the US its home has made the US the great
power that it is today.

Give me a break Jews aren’t any better or smarter than anyone else. On the whole they have been a major liability. The Christian Science Monitor ran an economic study of Israeli cost to america in 2002 or 2003. the economic study they quoted said it was about 1 and a half trillion dollars. This is before 3 trillion spent on the Iraq war or the massive hit we have taken on oil prices. Some Jewish bankers are involved in the banking collapse as well.
I want to be fair, I lived in the most Jewish community in my state for many years. 5 of the seven families on my community well were Jews. There were Jewish kids in my house all the tome. my Kids had many Jewish friends and so do I. I will say this with all due respect Jews are no smarter than anyone else. They don’t pay more taxes many Jews are involved in lot of rotten enterprises like Hollywood filth. Jews can be very productive when kept under Christian control. The great movies of the golden age of Holywood came about because Jewish Producers had to respond to the the Legion of Decency and the Code.
Jews were a major asset when they were in traditional pursuits like recycling, clothes manufacturing, loan sharking, retail trade, other small manufaturing, and other capitalistic ventures.I knew and know many marginal Jews just keeping their heads above water.
But since some of them have gotten big in government, large banking, media monopoly, left and rightwing activism, Israel first, corrupt lawyers, abortion loving doctors, and the ADL,SPLC,AIPAC. The upper crust of the Jewish community is a major problem for America.
Click to flag this comment as abusive
The FBI busted another AIPAC / ADL-type yesterday, a “US citizen” with the piquant name “Ben-Ami Kadish” who worked at Dover airbase in the 80s. The indictment says Mr. Kadish stole nuclear and aerospace secrets and took them home for other Israelis to photograph in his basement. Same Mossad handler ran Pollard, who (thankfully) is still serving his own life sentence for betraying the country. The FBI also recently overheard the handler telling Kadish to lie to investigators, which is odd because the Israelis somewhat confusedly have said 1) they had nothing to do with Pollard and 2) after Pollard they don’t spy on us any more. I guess we need to keep these scum alive in prisons someplace so we can go back to them on related investigations, but at some point the Rosenberg precedent must be renewed. Frying a few overzealous Israeli-Americans might help convince the rest to either drop the hyphen or get the hell out. Or maybe Bush will order a warrantless detention of AIPAC bigwigs Rosen and Weissman and have them waterboarded for a few weeks before their own upcoming trial for espionage.

Is Ben-Ami Kadish a member of AIPAC or the ADL? I have never seen proof of this.
He is a spy and should spend the rest of his life in jail like Pollard.
However the death penalty should be reserved for treason. Israel is not an enemy country like the USSR in 1947. The Rosenbergs should have been joined by half the FDR administration.

Sorry to interrupt your ‘Jews are superior’ rant, but if you want to be judged collectively, then you also have to accept the bad that Jews have done:
Jews also have been the biggest force in the expansion of the porn industry and filth on television.
Jews were the biggest supporters of the Iraq wars (remember when Netanyahu was making the rounds on all the major US networks, pushing for war against Iraq?) How many trillions has that cost the US economy now?
Jews made up the largest contingent of the American communist party, which did much to encourage the big spending programs that are driving America to bankruptcy today.
The reality is that the largish Jewish diaspora which makes the US its home has made the US the great
power that it is today.
Nonsense, America’s period of ascendancy (relative to the rest of the world) lies almost exclusively in the 19th century.
Any way, to judge a people collectively is ridiculous. There have been great Jewish people who have made America greater and richer, and there have been petty Jewish people that have imposed the spector of socialism on America. To try to make a value collective value judgment on an entire ethnicity is not productive.

RonL, you are a lying piece of shit. AIPAC was for the war. AIPAC is largest Jewish political group in the country.
The greatest advocates for war against Iraq in the media were almost all Jewish commentators.
If you are going to take credit for what ‘good jews’ have done, then you have to take the blame for what the ‘bad jews’ have done.
However, to speak of Jewish communists as Jews is akin to speaking of Black Klansman. Communism is antiJewish in every possible way.
Bolshevism was EXTREMELY Jewish. I guess you are willfully ignorant about the role of Jews in the communist movement, and the role of Jews in the greatest mass murders in history, e.g. Lazar Kaganovich overseeing of the deaths of five million Ukranians.
Again, it is foolish to judge an ethnicity collectively. There have been Jewish people who have made America and the world a better and richer place, and there have been petty Jewish people who have done great harm to America. Each individual should be judged on his/her own merit, not their ethnic identity.
That’s the only point I’m trying to make you arrogant son of a bitch.
