Joining the Revolution--An Endorsement of Ron Paul

Posted by Taki Theodoracopulos on February 04, 2008

Back in 2004, traditional conservatives were faced with navigating between a Charybdis and a Scylla by the names of Bush and Kerry. On one side lurked something quite monstrous: a self-described conservative who fiddled as the federal government grew to obscene proportions and who allowed sofa-samurai with names like Wolfowitz, Perle, and Kristol to talk him into an unending occupation of Babylon. On the other side swirled the vortex of John Kerry, George Soros, and Michael Moore, all promising big taxes, big government, and plenty of winks and nods to the cultural Left. Seeking relief, I went for Michael Anthony Peroutka of the Constitution Party. Some called it a wasted vote, and, yes, old Peroutka did not win, but I voted for a party rooted in the values of the Founders.

The 2008 campaign might seem to present a similar dilemma. Even after Giuliani has left the race to pursue a career as a mortician and horror-film villain, the top tier of the GOP offers little in the way of change from the past seven years. Among the Democrats, “Billary” would present the country with a fate worse than Kerry, and I’m about as likely to vote for Barack Obama as I am to join Oprah’s book club.

Rescuing me from despair is Ron Paul. Here is a man who makes me believe that the Grand Old Party of Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, and William F. Buckley might have a second life. Here is a man from Texas, with strong libertarian and conservative values, who has laid out a foreign policy that would put America first. Unlike the rest of them, if Ron Paul ever stood on the steps of the Capitol and swore to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, he’d actually mean it.

And there’s more. Back in November 2, 2004, while I was at Buckley’s place, where I’ve spent every election night since 1976, Henry Kissinger asked me whom I had endorsed. For the life me, I was at a loss for the name of the man I had just recommend to lead the free world. Peroutka is a fine, upstanding gentleman, but he had simply not generated the kind of following that makes his name easy to recall after one has had a drink or two. Ron Paul is a different matter all together.

Much can be learned about a candidate from the people he attracts. Every neocon hack looking for a promotion backed Giuliani early; and the usual collection of Hollywood airheads, ethno-hustlers, and media gatekeepers have clicked their heels behind the Democrats. Paul, on the other hand, has attracted an enormous amount of supporters from all walks of life, many of whom had hitherto shown the good taste to stay out of politics. Paul gets his votes from the real Americans of the heartland and the most dynamic men of industry and the sciences—not from catamites like David Frum, the tubby Richard Perle, and John “4 pizzas” Podhoretz. It seems that a Paul supporter from outside the beltway came up with the idea for his fundraising blitzes, and a political novice from Google led the troops in New Hampshire. They’re all united in an effort to form a movement based on liberty, not nation-building financed with money we don’t have.

Beltway journalists would have loved to cover another election cycle without ever mentioning such unfashionable things as non-interventionist foreign policy, Constitutionalism, and sound monetary policy. But the success of Ron Paul’s candidacy has thwarted business as usual. Even if Paul doesn’t quite pull off the GOP nomination, he will have accomplished a great deal and permanently changed the landscape of American politics. Paul has led an insurgent political movement that has grown larger than I ever thought possible, and he’s created a new camp for liberty within a Republican Party I had just about given up for lost. Ron Paul is the real deal, and his name will soon be jumping to everyone’s lips at the best cocktail parties whenever liberty and traditional conservatism are the topics of choice.

Paul’s campaign has cured my addiction to cable news and talk radio.  At some point, I realized they were not only not covering his candidacy, they weren’t covering anything of substance.

great endorsement brother taki

God bless you, sir, and may I say you would be a fine Secretary of State in the Paul administration; that is, if you wouldn’t consider it beneath your dignity.

I feel much better now about my vote for Peroutka in 2004, and as did Taki, I had a tough time remembering Peroutka’s name after a couple of bumps at the bar.  I hope the best for the Paul campaign to implant some principles or backbone, for that matter, back into the constitutional conservative movement.

Go, Ron Paul!

Couldn’t agree more. Nicely said.

Taki thank you for supporting my Man Ron Paul.  I have been also casting my vote to third party candidates but have actually voted for Nader in the last two elections simply because he advocated campaign reform.  Can you imagine if McCain had to rely on the meager donations he would garner from individuals.

I implore you to take Taki-mag to the next level and make it a full service news site.  I volunteer as sports reporter.  I have been proved right as the only New England Patriots fan who predicted that the pursuit of an undefeated season would prove their undoing.  I was the lone voice who thought they should sit their starters and go into the playoffs hungry, rested, with no monkey on their back, and a huge chip on their shoulder.  Not to mention that when they lost the super bowl no one will remember the undefeated regular season.  You could see it in their play that they were lifeless from playing since early December to never lose a game.  Their greed in trying to become the greatest team ever cost them their fourth super bowl in seven years and a place in history.  You Taki, could have had the scoop.  A reporter with the sense to see that this undefeated season was only a curse and not a blessing.  Let the Dolphins keep it.  There is no shame in losing a game especially when the only reason to keep winning is for some bragging rights.

Anyway that is my pitch.  Please make Taki-mag a full service news service.  Imagine the Taki Debates on the Taki Channel.  The media is power and you could be the king maker.  You have the basis for a small movement with the legions of Ron Paul supporters such as myself who are disaffected with the msm.  I can barely tolerate to turn on my television anymore.  Please make it safe for us.  This Ron Paul movement needs a place to go to keep the discussion moving in the right direction, no pun intended.  You could start out at as a pay-per-view station on cable.  I pledge my support in whatever it takes, time, effort, money, you name it.

Thank you for the endorsement of Ron Paul.

Great endorsement!  Ron Paul has shown that integrity, honesty, and authenticity in politics is not entirely dead.

For a great satire on the president, the mainstream media, and the war on terror, see this YouTube music video from the international award-winning zombie musical feature film, “Song of the Dead.” It’ stars horror movie veteran Reggie Bannister (Phantasm, Wishmaster, Bubba Ho-tep) as the president of the U.S. The filmmaker, Chip Gubera, is giving a share of his profits from DVD sales to the Ron Paul campaign. Go to:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=qQmkkoxSKYw

You don’t miss a chance to call J-Pod a fat ass, do you?

This Ron Paul movement is not going to die anytime soon.  People have too much invested in it.  My hope is that we can bring some honesty to media.  Currently they are running paid programing for their hand picked dream tickets.  Originally they hoped to push Giulliani and Hillary down our throats.  Even in this country of pathetic morons that wasn’t happening and now they are reduced to their third and fourth choices.  The Ron Paul revolution will go on.  My meetup group, one in about 1700, is still planning on meeting even after the elections are long over.  We can also grab the Kucinich people.  They may be hardcore liberals but they were also sorely abused for not toeing the warfare/wellfare state party lines.  They are a lot smaller group than Ron Paul’s people but I admire Kucinich’s spirit in trying to get into the debates by bringing charges against stations who were excluding him.  Duncan Hunter is another guy they just decided to shut out because he wasn’t helping to consolidate support behind the media darlings McCain and Romney.  That’s after their dream candidate, the mortician was leveled.  People are leaving FOX, CNN, etc, in droves, and they need a place to go.  The advertisers are going to be looking for a place to go to.  I watched the Super Bowl commercials yesterday just so I can know exactly where not to spend my money.  Let’s see that’s Coke, Pepsi, Vitamin Water, Bud, Go Daddy, Monster, Audi, Cingular, etc.  Should be no problem boycotting their lousy products.  By putting commercials on FOX they are reverse advertising.  They are telling us Ron Paul people to spend our money elsewhere.  The beauty of it is that some company that didn’t even pony up the money for a Super Bowl commercial will now benefit.

Out with the old media and messenger, newspaper/print/TV and the welfare/warfare mongers, Hillary/Obama/McCaine, etc.

In with the new media and messenger, the internet and the message of freedom, peace and prosperity, in other words Ron Paul.

Goldwater, Buckley, Reagan--warmongers all.

What is your problem, Taki?  Are you nuts?  Have you seriously lost more of your mind?

You’re PART of the media, you’re supposed to heed the memo from March 15th of last year regarding blacking out anything to do with Paul.  Yes, you’re not necessarily beloved by most in the old media, but you’re still a member, and I really hope you learn to follow the rules, lest you be demeaned to the status of “blogger.”

Nonetheless, thanks for a perfect endorsement.  As it is with anyone independent enough in the media, your endorsement only means more traffic for you from me, and others who are proud to wear their Ron Paul pin.

By the way, my pin won’t come off after November of this year.

If McCain becomes President, Ron Paul will be a major, major player in the next election. If Romney wins, less so. If Clinton or Obama win, Paul will be out of the picture completely as the nation rushes to pick a Republican, any Republican, as quickly as they can.

I must’ve smiled a dozen times while reading this
and laughed out loud four or five. Thank you for this.
I’m one of those who never chose to be involved
before. Paul is inspiring. A true statesman, and as
you so eloquently pointed out, the only one who
means it. Refreshing indeed.

Three cheers for Dr. Ron Paul! Thanks Taki for endorsing a constitutionalist and member of the Old Right tradition.

As to today’s media the movie NETWORK in 1976 spoke a lot of truths that apply today to FOX, CNN, and the rest of the media conglomerate in the voice of one of its character’s Howard Beale:

“You people and sixty-two million other Ameicans are listening to me right now. Because less than three percent of you people read books. Because less than fifteen percent of you read newspapers. Because the only truth you know is what you get over this tube. Right now, there is a whole, an entire generation that never knew anything that didn’t come out of this tube. This tube is the gospel, the ultimate revelation. This tube can make or break Presidents, Popes, Prime Ministers. ...”

He goes on in his monologue to say:

“We deal in illusions, man. None of it is true! But you people sit there day after day, night after night, all ages, colors, creeds - we’re all you know. You’re beginning to believe the illusions we’re spinning here. You’re beginning to think that the tube is reality and that your own lives are unreal. You do whatever the tube tells you. You dress like the tube, you eat like the tube, you raise your children like the tube. You even think like the tube. This is mass madness. You maniacs. In God’s name, you people are the real thing. We are the illusion. So turn off your television sets. Turn them off now. Turn them off right now. Turn them off and leave them off. Turn them off right in the middle of this sentence I am speaking to you now. Turn them off!”

Shut off the noise and get back in touch with Western civilization read the important books - talk to your family and tune out the slop coming out over the airwaves.

And while your at it vote for Ron Paul your children, and your grandchildren will thank you for its.

Viva La Revolution !

Ron Paul on Wolf Blitzer as quoted by Alexander Cockburn:

“I attack two wars that blacks are suffering from. One, the war overseas. In all wars minorities suffer the most. So they join me in this position I have against the war in Iraq.

And what about the war on drugs? What other candidate will stand up and say I will pardon all blacks, all whites, everybody who were convicted for non-violent drug acts and drug crimes. And this is where the real discrimination is: if you want to look for discrimination, it’s the judicial system.”

This is radical stuff.

Ron Paul seems to get the fact that he appeals to anti-authoritarians from across the ideological divide. Surely he must realize that he cannot win with the support of a Paleo-Whatever GOP remnant alone.

The strategy of running as a contender for the Republican nomination has run its course, its too self limiting. He is losing the votes of the Constitution Party, the Libertarian Party, and a significant number of Green and independently minded Democrats as well. This could be the first true realignment since 1932.

Time to cut the cord, and go Independent.

Hi Taki,

Just clicked on a google-alert which provided your link regarding your endorsement of Ron Paul.  I must admit you offer a great read but more to the point.  Your endorsement of Ron Paul is one I just sent to my buddy list.  I have a few friends who have not decided and a few others who are not supporting anyone thus far but I have a feeling you.

I have never heard of you at all but then again being part of Paul’s support has brought me closer to great authors from many industries and it sure does look I will enjoy reading your future posts.

Anyway thanks for your endorsement of Ron Paul.

I wonder why would you have any contact with a traitor such as Heny Kissinger?

In closing thanks again for your post perhaps your really going to upset Kissinger and give him a heart attack which may be a good headline in tomorrows paper.

From my perspective Ron Paul gave me the best reason to actually read the law of the land for the first time in over 20 years.

@leroy brown:

“You don’t miss a chance to call J-Pod a fat ass, do you?”

And here I thought Taki was suggesting that “Four Pizzas” had gone on a diet, since he referred to him as “Two Pizzas.”

Ron Paul, a vote for the Republic!

Take heart!

“I attack two wars that blacks are suffering from. One, the war overseas. In all wars minorities suffer the most. So they join me in this position I have against the war in Iraq.”

Then why are whites over 80% of the casualties? I’ll still vote for Paul but he is just being P.C. (and racist) here.

Too bad Ron didn’t attack affirmative action racism (or the hate crime double standard) with the same conviction:

“if you want to look for discrimination, it’s the judicial system.”

Thanks for the great article. I had already decided to write in Ron Paul’s name if it’s not already on the ballot. He’s the only one on the ticket worthy of a true conservative’s vote.

I commend you on your clear sighted view of a real Republican Ron Paul, I recommend that all Greek Americans support Dr. Paul and restore the Constitution and sound monetary and foreign policy.

Taki is a smart man with a good sense of humor.

Those vile neocons have no sense of humor!

GO RON PAUL SUPER TUESDAY and BEYOND!

Thanks for a great summary of the Revolution part 1. Part 2 will feature the departure of corrupt denizens of Congress and the election of honest Revolution candidates. Part 3 will witness the return to Constitutional law and restoration of Freedom to the people.

Thank God, I’m not the only Greek for Ron Paull!!

Yasou Taki,

My mother and father are Spartiatai who immigrated to America in the 40’s.

As a child my paternal grandfather used to tell me the stories of valliant revolutionaries such as Kolokotronis and Leonidas. Those stories have been forever etched in my memory.

My grandfather was a successful restaurateur and candymaker in the Midwest. My father served in the US Army Special Forces during the Korean War. They were attracted to the ideas and principles that this great Republic once stood for; ideas like liberty, freedom, limited government. However, today it seems as though we have forgotten these great principles...our elected officials certainly have.

It is true that Americans are not well liked in other countries and it’s not because of our perceived wealth and freedoms that the MSM and neocons like GWB would have you believe. Recently on a trip to Sparta my parents were speaking in English while at a local shop, they were approached by an older gentleman who demanded that my mother speak greek. Afterward, my mother explained to me that he was not upset because she was speaking english but because of America’s unwelcomed involvement in the affairs of other countries.

Ron Paul is the only candidate who is telling the truth, he is the American embodiment of the great Greek revolutionaries my grandfather used to tell me about...it literally sends chills up my spine.

Your wit, wisdom and humor are a breath of fresh air my Greek friend, keep it up and never surrender.

Kalimera,

James Vourantonis

Welcome aboard,
Unfortunately it took segregationist Governor Wallace to reveal the truth that “there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between” Republicans and Democrats.  The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas Corpus, detaining protesters, banning books like “America Deceived’ from Amazon, stealing private lands (Kelo decision), warrant-less wiretapping and refusing to investigate 9/11 properly.  They are both guilty of treason.
Support Dr. Ron Paul and save this great nation.

Bush, the pseudo conservative, with his DHS, grew the government by some 35% and has filed a 3 trillion dollar budget which doesnt even include his quagmires in the middle east.

McCain, or Romney, if elected, will continue down the same disastrous course with reckless abandon.

Real America marches on.

Reagan was a fraud and Bush is his heir. For all his rhetoric Reagan grew the government and deficit.

Bush is asking for something approaching 3/4 of $1T for the War machine. The bottom could fall out of the economy before the election at this rate. There just aren’t many real patriots with courage left in the land.

Neo-Cons are going on about the founding fathers intent. Jefferson called for periodic revolution to preserve our liberty. Unfortunately Blackwater is around to make sure no one gets any ideas. The next Civil War is not going to be as nicely color coded as the first.

Ron Paul needs to form a third party. Heck, lets have a 4th, 5th, and 6th party.  We’re not a parliamentary democracy, so the executive doesn’t need a majority of his party in the Congress.  And for presidential elections, let’s have what the French and the Louisianans have: two rounds. And lets follow the wisdom of the Germans in the Bundestag: 1/2 from districts, 1/2 proportionally divided among parties. And we don’t need the German 5% rule.

Wiser words are seldom spoken.

Great essay Taki, but Ron Paul is never going to get the Republican nomination.Five million can be given to the Constitution party for party building purposes. That is enough to get it on the ballot in almost all states.A Paul Buchanan ticket, could demolish the Republicans and finally we would have a true opposition party. It would be a great legacy from you to America. How about you and Mel Gibson sticking your fingers in the eyes of the neocons in both parties?Ron Paul can raise a lot of money to do the campaign but we need a start.Don’t let the prowar people destroy this country. It can and has to be done and you can do it.No matter what bless you for this site.

Linda Kazakis

Your writing delights me. As a Suisse citizen as well as an American, I enjoy the views I see again so vividly through your words. However, no article has pleased me more than your endorsement of Dr. Ron Paul. Welcome, Fellow Patriot, to the revolution.

yep…

I loved your last line:

“Ron Paul is the real deal, and his name will soon be jumping to everyone’s lips at the best cocktail parties whenever liberty and traditional conservatism are the topics of choice.”

Which, if it comes true, means that he’ll be back into the MSM, regardless of who wants him out, a month or two after that.

That will change things big time.

I never thought of Ron Paul doing a Bull-Moose like run for the presidency. Seems like the only good idea is to go for the GOP nomination, and if it doesn’t work out, go ahead and work magic in Congress with a new voice empowered by some many new supporters. He’s right to say third parties don’t have a chance, and the unsaid that some GOPers would resent it. But reading your words the day before Super Tuesday with the possibility of GOP nominating a McCain so hated within his own party, facing a Hillary or an Obama, I have to think, why not? Who would care or blame him? Not even Ann Coulter. And I too would otherwise just end up tossing my vote to the Constitution party, not remembering the name of their Candidate.

Go Ron Paul!

Hi Taki…

I hope that the slow revelation of Ron Paul to the Greek-American community will encourage and inspire them.

Letters should be written to the Chronicle and the greek papers - that would stir some action, would it not?

Just loved it. Thanks. Don’t forget, Texas allows Ron Paul to run for Congress at the same time as for President. So we will have him in DC one way or another. Since he is the incumbent, it is most likely he will be reelected.

‘“I attack two wars that blacks are suffering from. One, the war overseas. In all wars minorities suffer the most. So they join me in this position I have against the war in Iraq.”

Then why are whites over 80% of the casualties? I’ll still vote for Paul but he is just being P.C. (and racist) here.’

Wrong. Casualties don’t suffer. They DIE. He is not saying that minorities hold the largest number of casualties, but that they suffer the most socially and economically from the war. Ron Paul doesn’t even know what PC stands for and he is NOT a racist! Even if he IS racist (and anyway if would be a lot LESS racist than most of the other candidates, I’m sure), how in the world does his comment above suggest racism?

Just remember, one’s support for Ron Paul means nothing unless you get out there and vote for him in your State’s primary or caucus and drag to the voting booths everyone else you know who will vote for him. Second and third to this is to become a precinct leader and to donate to his campaign - there is more information on all of these things on Ron Paul’s website.

Thanks Taki for endorsing Ron Paul. I also have never gotten into supporting a candidate, as a matter of fact I am a Democrat who would have thought I’d switch parties to vote for him. He is truly the most humble, wise, respectful, conservative, honorary statesman of all times. I believe his spirit, his supporters and divine providence will keep the praire fires burning all the way to the White House. The media is a joke, all bought and sold, the candidates of big business and big money are also a joke. I had no idea what a joke our political process had become. I’m gald Ron Paul woke me up.  I am no longer a blindfolded Sheep.

Ron Paul, the statesman to bring the truth to America, and the world. Honesty is the best policy. Return to the tenets of the forefathers.

Welcome to the Revolution. I hope you can put a but load of money where your mouth is. Specially for TV commercials paid for by the grassroots.

How about buying the voting machines companies before the end of the primaries and make the baddest bonfire machine burning of all time?

Good heavens!  I decided to vote for Peroutka in ’04 on the day I cast my ballot – I started Googling the candidates and found he was for peace, the Bill of Rights, and lower taxes.  And I just sent in my absentee ballot for Ron Paul four days ago.  I don’t know who will win this thing – one vote won’t determine the election anyway, but, at least by voting for Dr. Paul, I’m not ashamed to tell my kids whom I’m voting for.
There is one other benefit you didn’t mention: Ron Paul is separating the men from the boys among the “libertarians.” The real men (and real women) are supporting the good doctor; the little children are squabbling among themselves because Congressman Paul does not meet their high standards for hipness (or perhaps it’s merely their childish decadence masquerading as hipness).

It would be such a relief to have the best and most knowledgeable man in the white house instead of the one who raised the most money and then had to pay off the favors.  It would be nice to cast your vote for someone we really liked instead of the “lesser of 2 evils”.  I fear for our future.

And so, Taki, here is where you demonstrate that you are, after all, a man of “The People”, and not aristocratic OR traditional at all.

I will vote - with many reservations - for McCain.  I disagree with his rhetoric about the “war against terror”, but at least I know that he knows what war really means, as - dare I say? - as Ron Paul does not.

With many reservations, I will cast my ballot for John McCain in the Pennsylvania primary (in which I can vote), and if he is nominated by the Republican Party, I will vote for him in November.  Because at least, he knows what war is, and so I trust him more than
any other candidate, while America is still “at war” (or whatever), unless and until all American warriors come home from the Middle East and Afghanistan.

At least, John McCain has experienced war.  Ron Paul has not.  So I will support John McCain instead of supporting
Ron Paul who has never heard an enemy’s bullet fired at him in combat.

Ron Paul is a hero.

I just voted in the primary for Ron Paul.  Even if he should lose the nomination, he has paved the way for others of his ilk (hereof I proclaim myself) to win in the future.  It takes an idea to percolate in the minds of the peoople for several years before change takes place.  May the ideals of Ron Paul one day triumph.

Ron Paul is now MY HERO!  Why?  Cuz he’s the ONLY politicean who has EVER spoken truth to power in my lifetime.

To the man who said he has no idea what war is??? he did spend 5 years in the airforce!  Where do you get your info from??? Oh thats right, Faux News.  Why don’t you try growing up and actually reading something.  Turn off the TV; I have.

This formerly registered independant, formerly voting dem female voter is now a Ron Paul Republican.  Go Ron, GO!

Google or Youtube Ron Paul.  The younger generation has made great videos of the Largest Grassroots Political Campaign Ever to Occur; but MSM fails to cover.

Ron Paul has cured my apathy and I have voted in my first primary election.

If his name WILL be on MY General Election ballot; even if it’s written in!

Ron Paul 2008!  Go Ron Go!

Archon thinks McCain was infantry?  No, he flew planes and was shot down.

The boots on the ground see war first hand.

Ron Paul knows that.

Taki did a fine thing in endorsing this good man.

In space a black hole can be seen only by the absence of light coming from it.
To see a black hole in space you have to look for nothing.
To see Ron Paul, and any other topic the Mainstream Media hopes will go away , like the tidal wave of
unassimilating immigrants or the exporting of all of our jobs
you clearly see the absence of any media light .
It must be scary to be a presidential candidate stuttering the word ‘Change’ over and over again
while standing next to a Black hole that constantly
speaks powerful ideas whose time has come.
Sure, Ron Paul has some brown spots on his apple but he is a real apple,
not a hollow piece of wax that looks like an apple.
A lifelong Florida Democrat for Ron Paul
Go Ron Paul!

Insane McCain, or McCrazy, take your pick, has received a medal for every hour he spent in combat.  The man lost more planes without getting shot down than any other pilot since they perfected the flying machine.  Ron Paul decided that war was no good when he was treating men being sent into battle in Viet Nam.  He served honorably and did not run from his duty to country even though he could have.

McCain with the crazy grin thinks the surge is working.  Been down so very long that it looks like up to him.

Thanks for the endorsement and welcome!

Ron Paul is the only candidate with a solution and more and more people are beginning to understand that we will all be better of if Ron Paul wins this time round rather than in 2012. Just think how big a mess we will be in then without Ron Paul as President!

Sunbeam, old chum, I didn’t say anything about McCain’s being in the infantry . . . unless there are two Archons on this site.

Meanwhile, McCain and Romney are battling it out for the Republican nomination.

To paraphrase that HL Mencken:

“No one ever went unelected underestimating the stupidity of the American public.”

Say hello to you new President...John McCain.  Really isn’t that much of a “battle”.

Oh, and Patrick Buchanan “called his shot” regarding Rudolph Giuliani.

That is why the man is still among the brilliant in the Republican Party; like the US Marines:

The Few, The Proud.

Nevertheless, the Republicans are going to back into another presidency, thanks to the Democrats insistence on playing “identity politics”...Blacks are 13% of the population, and, at best, single women are 30%.

Once again, White ["American", meaning Southern/Appalachian/Mountain West/Mid-Western, that is, any man that’s ever even CONTEMPLATED going deer hunting] men will vote for a White man (McCain).

Ron Paul who has never heard an enemy’s bullet fired at him in combat.

After his 1961 graduation and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology, he became a U.S. Air Force flight surgeon, serving outside the Vietnam War zone.

Paul, as a surgeon, certainly saved more American lives than POW McCain.

Here’s one old white man who will never vote for the mad bomber.McCain can’t even get 50% of the vote in Arizona. What a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea.I said it before it may well be McCain Romney. If there ever was a chance for a third party its now or never. The republic is finis, other wise.A collapsing economy, a disastrous war, and Clinton and McCain what a mess.No wonder Hitler looked good in Germany.I expect to end up in Guantonamo with either Clinton or McCain.

Oh, I’ll be sure and put you down in the column of folks who didn’t want to be remembered as McCain/Romney/Huckabee supporters.
I would say I just don’t get it, these folks who seem to be jumping on board with Ron Paul NOW, when he needed your ‘word’ months ago.
For those of us who have been walking the precincts, waving the signs, getting the one finger salute from the neocon establishment, all I can say is Ronald Reagan would slap you.

Enjoy the new improved version of McCain-Kennedy, set for a vote in April.

csason: In fairness, I doubt that there are many of Mr. Theodoracopulos’ readers who are not aware of Ron Paul. I also suspect that he’s rather used to that one finger salute.

That said, Taki Theodoracopulos being slapped by Ronald Reagan is an interesting visual.

I spoke with three people in my office yesterday who wanted to vote for Ron Paul but can’t because they are in the wrong party.  One is a democrat, one a Right to Lifer, and the other is registered conservative.  It has me thinking that Ron Paul has a lot of votes still sitting out there waiting for him in a third party run.  I can’t see too many right to lifers or conservative voters falling in with McCrazy, Romney, or Huck.

Taki, welcome to the camp.
We all owe Ron Paul our gratitude
for showing up the political
establishment for the obscene
profanity it has become.
God Damn them all.

Revolution? What revolution?

Although I am grateful to our host for his eloquent
endorsement of the good Doctor, gentlemen, let’s keep in
mind that all we are doing here is talking to ourselves.

Ron Paul will not be elected president in November.

Hey: I’ve done my bit. I’ve written the check and may very
well write another. I’ve talked up Ron Paul with all my
family, friends and associates, and sent on many Forwards.
And I voted for Ron Paul in the New Jersey primary yesterday.

In November, it appears that American voters will most likely
be choosing between McCain and Clinton. The question is:
What do we do then?

@Alessio

“What do we do then?”

Good question. How do you keep the
momentum going? How do you keep the
movement moving?
Obviously it will take many dedicated
individuals and… money.
Who and from where are the questions.
Are there any leaders left in America?
I know Ron Paul is one of them, but
once the campaign is over and if he
loses, where does the 15% remnant turn?
The only representation we will have will
be the congressional seat of Ron Paul.
Will this be the last gasp of Liberty
in America? Good question.

Ron Paul’s decency is such a breath of fresh air.

Thank you Taki.

Leonor.

Go Taki! Go Ron Pul!
Hopefully, even if Dr.Paul looses, enough people(especially the young) will have been awakened to his message.

Yay! Whoo! Go Ron Paul! Well done Yianni, you’ve broken the mould yet again. Imagine, America’s first-lady and President rolled into one. A transvestite in the White House - that’ll shake-up Mr Ahmadinejad. Viva Hellas!

Thanks, Taki.  I voted for Mike Peroutka in 2004, also; and
I voted for Ron Paul in our State Primary.  Unfortunately,
I will not have another chance to vote for him, since the
powers that be (and dumbed down Americans) don’t want him
for President.  They’ll choose the likes of McCain or
Obama.
It seems to me that John Ball’s reasons for voting for
McCain are at best confused.  He will vote for McCain,
because McCain knows war.  From what men returning from
Vietnam told me; from what men who fought in World War II
told me, WAR IS HELL!  Which makes me think that McCain
is somewhat addled if he wants to expand the war in Iraq
and carry it on for another 100 years if necessary.  If
McCain knows war, then logically, he would seek to end it
and bring our boys back home from HELL.  McCain’s problem,
and apparently Mr. Ball’s, is that they think the war in
Iraq is just.

“10,000 years in Iraq” McCain is unelectable; no one wants another war president. McCain will be seen as extending the Bush empire another term, and they’ll rush to vote for Clinton or Obama before casting the ballot for him. Ron Paul would be the only true challenge to either Democrat this November.

Now, how to get him to win the nomination?
