Lobby? What Lobby?
Of course there’s no Israel Lobby, no need to fear it, and the very idea that the Lobby exercises a decisive influence on the American media is bigoted nonsense --or, er, maybe not ....
Or else why or why is there next to absolutely no coverage of the upcoming trial of AIPAC honcho Steve Rosen, and his sidekick Keith Weissman, AIPAC’s former top Iran analyst?
Remember, these guys are charged with espionage: specifically, with handing over top secret classified information to Israeli embassy employees, including material so secret that it has to be kept out of the public record during the trial, utilizing a complex system of references to “country X” and “country Y.”
Oh, but according to the Lobby, the AIPACers didn’t do anything that isn’t “routine” in Washington: “Everybody does it,” they say. Well, if everybody does it, then let’s just declassify everything and be done with it. Let’s make espionage a victimless crime, and call for its abolition, along with laws against pot-smoking and selling liquor on Sundays.
What’s interesting about this case is how and why the media finds it so uninteresting—to the point that they refuse to cover it. And it’s not like it isn’t newsworthy, what with the prospect of having top administration officials subpoenaed and forced to testify, including Condi Rice, Richard Armitage, Stephen Hadley, and a host of others. You’d think this would be news—but you’d be wrong. Only the New York Times has had a catching-up piece on the upcoming trial—scheduled for April 29, after repeated delays—which, naturally, starts off with the “everybody does it” meme:
“Aipac has for decades played an important though informal role in the formation of the United States government’s Middle East policy. As part of Aipac’s mission to lobby the government on behalf of Israel, its officials assiduously maintain contact with senior policymakers, lawmakers, diplomats and journalists. Those conversations are typical of the unseen world of information trading in Washington, where people customarily and insistently ask each other, ‘So, what are you hearing?’”
Yeah, but do these people pass classified information to foreign governments—and, if so, how come they’re not being prosecuted? Well, that’s what the defense team in this case wants to know, which is why Condi and a platoon of government officials and former officials will be called to the stand, confronted with instances in which classified information was passed to AIPAC. and embarrassed in a public forum. A media spectacle to end all media spectacles—right? So why isn’t the case getting more publicity, especially as the trial date approaches?

An apt comparison would be the “Scooter” Libby perjury trial. It was all over the papers, for days on end, and involved nothing more than someone lying it turned out harmlessly) about when an already-outed CIA agent was “re-outed”. Here it’s a true issue of national defense and is poo-poo’ed by the fishwraps and other media. It almost makes you think that AIPAC might be running things.

Sibel Edmonds has said the “outing” of Plame was done by government officials and all investigations were squashed claiming official secrets. Buying into the party line that no damage was done ignores a judge and jury who heard the facts of a perjury case and found a lot of lying happened. Also ignored is a lot of treason.
On the other hand Israel is a defacto part of the mal-Administration and Israeli=US Citizen so no harm done. And the Liberty looked like an Egyptian Air Craft carrier so it was ok to bomb and strafe it. Israel is our bestest friend in the whole world.

Thanks Justin for keeping us up to date on this since, as you mention, no one else finds this newsworthy. The “everyone does it defense” just goes to show for how long and how many of our officials who, I would imagine have to make an oath at some point swearing allegiance to the US, and not to foreign countries, have been committing treason. And, does the information flow in both directions? Say, if a friend and ally were to know that some bad guys are planning to fly planes into buildings…
In any case, the “influence” of the Lobby in Washinton is nothing new, although it is shocking. Even more so is their apparent ability to manipulate our “Justice” system.

Since Pharoah, Jews have always worked for the Hegemammon....they are the Pilot Fish pour Le Leviathon de jour....No Exceptions...think of it as simple Numbers racket...Israel was originally conceived as a “download” for the European assimilationists(like Lincoln’s Liberia) in their “embarrassing” struggle with the poor Eastern “orthodox”...and please remember that Marc Anthony wanted to move “Rome” to Alexandria...and Napolean wanted to become Caliph...It was the USSA & the USSR(the two great democracies) that were the first to recognize Israel...Truman & Stalin came to quick agreement on that one...go figure....Justin is most likely just another gratifying Pied Piper...be most careful of his trails & tunes....

Just the tone of the New York Times above is revealing. Their whole aura presupposes an acceptance of AIPAC as a kind of benign force simply working out its life cycle in rather pedestrian ways. One would have to ask if there are similar sentiments at the Times regarding the public face of the Boy Scouts or the gun lobby, not that the two belong in anyway together or that yours truly has anything at all positive to say about hunting or hunters generally. But I’d bet there aren’t.
In my view, there could be no more just a reason than what’s offered here by Raimondo for the calling of a general strike and the organization of mass protests alla Ukraine, 2006, aimed at bringing down the whole affair. Perhaps the sinking dollar, the resulting increasing price for oil, the credit abomination and the war will together bring about the pre-conditions for such salutary events. I say close the books on this version of the United States of America. We need show trials and a second constitutional convention.

Cover the AIPAC trial? What reality-based whining is this? Don’t you know the media tells us - not merely what we know - but what we SHOULD know.
If a tree falls in the forest, and the media isn’t there to cover it, interview witnesses, badger survivors, tease out a sex angle and pedantically insult us with phony lessons in “tolerance” – it doesn’t occur. Shake it off, bub: There IS no tree fall. However, if the tree is very big, it’s fall very noisy and deliberate disregard can no longer be maintained, this Gravity-Induced Collapse of Bio-Fiber will be chalked up to an intelligence failure… and ignored. And in the unlikely case the tree is TOO damn big to overlook, the martyred timber will be fashioned into a deep national tragedy – then blamed on something – anything – with “terror” in the title. Some brand of “fascist” (inadvertently aided, of course, by homegrown “isolationists” and those unwilling to replace the American middle class with cheaper and cheaper labor). We can expect another dragnet of flophouse terrorists – a whirlwind Homeland Security crackdown on anyone wearing a watch cap and holding a bottle of Night Train. At the cost of our blood and fortune abroad, and our freedoms here at home, we MUST save those damn trees.

Hey, if you want another word that starts with “M”, since you seem to like that, try “moron”. My time is too valuable to waste it on the likes of you

It’s extraordinary that we live in an America that allows itself to be invaded by by primitives and duped by hipsters. Truly we are a nation unfit to call ourselves Americans.
When I moved to Princeton years ago I anticipated getting to know the WASP elite better and learning a thing or two. What I learned was that they were weak, polluted with self loathing and lacking the drive to preserve their own way of life. They relinquished power in the sixties and live now for their stock portfolios and their summer homes in Vermont.
They, and we, suffer from decadence and cowardice. We have a generation to take our country back or it will be gone for ever.
As far as The Lobby is concerned, we all know that treason is the issue here. But we let it go on because we would rather see all that we love and built go down rather than be called anti-Semites. Future historians (if there are any) will sneer at our weakness and say we deserved what we got.

Regardless of whether or not the AIPAC Trial will get any major media attention, a dim prospect at best, the so called “Lobby” and their vehicle AIPAC truly are one among hordes of special interests involved in the largest Bunko Operation since Keynesian Economics was sanctified. The printing presses of Foggy Bottom attract flies like a rotting fish and so one can assume that this kind of institutionalized treason has developed an elaborate system of omerta.
After all, ever since journalism became “modernized” and journalists became media stars, thus eliminating the crucible of getting-to-the- bottom-of-things called smoky bars, it is more important to conduct one’s self with style in the latest fashion of conventional wisdom. Investigative reporting seems so gauche. Why would one ever want to attack a fellow club-member?
Foggy Bottom is an endless souk of lies, opportunism and exploitation in the service of maintaining the National Sentimental Swoon of the Moment. If AIPAC were actually punished for following standard procedure, the entire edifice might be open to attack and aint no way that is ever going to happen. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and the high rent real estate lining the road… the lobbyists and Foreign Embassies, has this government by the short hairs.
History has been provided with an elegant graph that shows the comparison of wealth creation for the participants in government against the path of government’s rise and self destruction. It’s like a set of golden arches where the arch of triumph is reached simultaneously just before both head straight to the bottom. I think the motto is something like “Billions Sold”.
Our revered Napoleon fer ijits has his very own French-Fried Government. How nice. and oh yes, how so very sui generis.

Kari has a point here. My gut tells me that there will be something of a tug of war going on in the DOJ between the prosecutors, whose aim (or at least interest) will be to make their careers by putting some high profile person (see, e.g., Martha Stewart, Oscar Wyatt) in jail and any “cardinal protectors” of AIPAC and its ilk higher up the food chain.
One would like to know what kind of guidance Mukasey is giving his staff on this.

Under Communism, the Party owned and ran the media. Totally. The exception to total
control in our swiftly sinking nation is the internet. And now you hear AIPAC shills
like Michael Savage calling for the stifling of this newest and most democratic of all
media. So, please keep reporting. Truly, where else can we get the news?
Imagine the Rosenberg Treason trial today. Would the Lobby allow even a word to escape?

The amazing thing is that these charges were brought at all. The White House and Gonzo dropped the ball on this.
I’ll have to brush up on the particulars of the case but I recall one of the tangents had to do with leaks to and by the press as well, which is why I think this thing stayed on track. The boys forgetting that squashing the press is a side job, and supporting Zionism on the Potomac is always job one.

Did it occur to anyone the reason for the delay in AIPAC is the FBI does not want Bush to PARDON?

Maybe if someone here painted himself like a rainbow and streaked naked through the courtroom flinging raw Polish sausages and wearing an orange Mohawk, the trial would become “newsworthy.”
Naaah. They’ve got an answer for everything; they’d just save the video for “Cops” and blank out the faces of the “innocent.”

“Did it occur to anyone the reason for the delay in AIPAC is the FBI does not want Bush to PARDON?”
I don’t know, but based on my intimate knowledge of Rockerfeller Center and Hollywood law, I’m led to believe the prosecution has little in the way of power to delay speedy trial; surely the defense has thought of your point and know what’s in the best interests of their client?

That is the single most righteous post I’ve seen on the internet. The people working in these organizations are arch-hypocrites, intolerant of all groups that “pose a threat” to their ingroup hegemony. They are 1. Marxists 2. traitors 3. culture crackers 4. nation wreckers.

Complete lucidity from T.O. Meehan.
The weak men who have allowed this civilization to be suffocated by parasites will be replaced by stronger men. And during the transition there will be no quarter, because the act of grooming your own descendants for slavery is an absolutely unforgiveable sin.
The current and recent-past leadership who have brought about this calamity must be declared immoral and without authority. No leadership which oversees the destruction of their own people in the name of multiculturalism and tolerance is legitimate. That is a self-evident truth.
The West is under attack and soon wholesale occupation by aliens - aliens who have recieved the highest approval from Western “elites”. The next step is obvious.

More like a dozen Israel lobbies, each riven by faction.
What you should worry about is not Israelis, but Christian Zionists and
