Obama, the Art of Political Lying, and Sarah Palin’s Legs

Posted by Taki Theodoracopulos on October 08, 2008

I usually find these debates demeaning, because they’re not exactly Lincoln vs. Douglas. But I must admit that in the debate with Biden, I found Sarah Palin’s legs absolutely wonderful…

Wrong answer Taki, last candidate (candidate, not president was the question) who spoke the truth was Pat.

I’m shocked and disappointed to hear that Taki is for that neo-con puppet and possibly unstable man- McCain.

Cheer up Taki. If the Inquirer is right, and they were about Edwards and have affidavits to cover their behinds, Palin cheated on her hubby with his business partner. Adultery or divorce doesn’t matter in politics anymore. Morality is a dead issue and criminality is how you make your bones.

If Stevens has to resign and by some more unlikely circumstance Palin-McCain lose she will undoubtedly appoint herself as his replacement. Murkowski appointed his daughter to his Senate seat so he could become Governor. The Mafia crime organization that is the Republican party would then run her in 2012. Unless she is whacked by Kay Baily Hutchinson or Christie Todd Whitman or maybe Condi Rice.

I must say the old man looks good ptwo ptwo! the sound quality was horrible. Visually it looked like a interrogation of someone trying to convice you she looked much older than 17.A smoking jacket a glass of chardonay and a pretty assistant would probably help him come off a bit more relaxed for the next installment.Keep up the good work RICHARD!

Taki you remind me of my uncle Petros, in looks and outlook.
The only difference, uncle Petros would have barbarically pondered if she had a preference for a certain sexual activity stereotypically engaged by us Hellenes.

Taki do yourself a favour, send your assistant to Best Buy and pick up a better video camera and a couple of lights. Image is everything!

McCain will cut pork from the Military Budget when Skull and Bones sponsors a public garden tour through the Bohemian Grove.

Youtube eh.....another victory for popular semiotics

Taki, spot on!  Happy to see and hear that you are as irreverent as ever, while still speaking the truth.

Work on the wobbly camera and the focus...you are better looking than the camera is capturing.  Carry on!

I threw out my t.v. Do Sarah’s legs go, like - all the way to the ground?

Too old for me though I suspect. I haven’t slept with a teenager since I was one.

But I like them pretty much between the ages of 21 & 30 since then.

And it helps if their legs start high and do go all the way to the ground as they say.

But what I’d like to know is who is this Ephiriam Hardcastle dogging you Taki.

Do you know?

Senior Taki… I agree with some of the comments above… get yourself a sexy camera operator a few lighting equipments and a tripod and keep sharing with us your views… They are so very entertaining …

Wish I had been the camera man.  Great shirt. Great speech.  Even if you disagree with some of it, which I did.  When I was in Gstaad I wondered what I would think if I had met him on the street and struck up a conversation. Would he be rude or charming? From this video I suspect the latter.

Is it alright if I demand the Evangelical sits at the back of the bus?

Did I hear Taki correctly near the beginning? He is voting for McCain/Palin? O_o ...

This is my first time at your site. To begin, may I say I greatly enjoyed your book Nothing To Declare.  Based on those poignant reflections, you strike me as a man who ‘knows shit from poundcake’ and who is not easily out-slicked. It would also seem we both share a mutual admiration for behaving like a “man of honor.” Which is why I find it hard to believe you support John McCain. No man of honor would hire Steven Schmidt to run his ad campaign. Schmidt is the same man who dishonored McCain’s integrity by spreading vicious lies about the Senator’s illegitimate black black baby during the 2000 primary battle in South Carolina. That prat deserved a belt in the chops for such low down tactics—not a job offer. Alas McCain hires Steve, aka “The Bullet”, to employ his shameless skill against his opponent. The resulting over-the- top attacks against Obama insult our intelligence and have nothing to do with solving the impending crises facing our country.  Instigating nutcases to cry out “Kill him,(Obama)” at rallies is a coward’s way out.” And servers only to make Mr. McCain appear desperate and slimey.  As for Sarah “legs” Palin, You do not win a debate by telling the moderator, “ I’m not going to answer that question,” then proceed to deliver a a well rehearsed stump speech. There is a reason the vast number of polls had Biden winning that encounter handily. I can only say based on what I have heard so far from Ms. Palin, I would not want her within one hundred feet of the red button. Which is why I’m joining Chris Buckley and voting Obama/Biden. And as one man of honor to another, I wish you’d reconsider.

truth is in short supply today. the candidates profess to speak the truth. Mr t professes truth. But no one actually expresses truth, and thats the difference between a statement and the truth itself. the Greeks created wonderful techniques to examine the real and the true. Americans like Mr T are more interested in their own opinions-which have nothing to do with truth. Contrast the socratic dialogue with Mr T’s or the candidates full frontal monologues that avoid real engagement with anything other than a network of rhetoric. Contrast the point of the socratic dialogue-to introduce aporia- with the know everything of opinion. The quality of truth is paradoxa: to know is to introduce aporia into knowledge and to recognize that one in fact does not know what one is talking about. This is the great intellectual device the greeks bequeathed civilization and which popular culture forgets in its mania for exhibitionism, status and recognition: broadcast yourself.Perhaps the portugese “saudade” expresses this sentiment of this lost Hellenism in the ugly face of narcissistic mentalities. the old mans grave remains all thats left of his Athenian home. His sons have sold everything, forgotten everything.
