Spying on Uncle Sam
It is a truth universally acknowledged that the two main reasons for anti-Semitism in America are Alan Dershowitz and Abe Foxman. No sooner had an American, Ben-Ami Kadish, been charged with providing military secrets to Israel while he was serving in the United States army 23 years ago, Foxman expresses surprise that Uncle Sam would go after a spy and traitor. In other words, spying for a foreign power is now OK, and betraying one’s country to Israel is honky-dory. No wonder many Americans believe that if forced to choose, many American Jews would betray this country in favor of Israel. What I fail to understand is why Israel continues to spy on us. First they kill tens of our sailors during the 6-day war on board the SS Liberty. It is hushed up. Then Pollard gets cought giving Israel our most sensitive military secrets--which Israel then sells to the Chinese. Two of AIPAC’s executives are now busy trying to weadle themselves out of a trial by threatening to reveal sensitive material. (They are accused of very serious offenses regarding secrets passed to israel). Now this Kadish fellow is treated almost as a hero by fat Foxman instead of the traitor he really is. It’s time to rethink relations with Israel and the trouble it causes, and will continue to cause, for Uncle Sam.

It should be against US law for an American to be in possession of a passport of another country. A man cannot serve two masters.

Not that the Greek shipping magnate can be bothered with facts, but it was the USS Liberty a spy ship.
I find it amusing that going after espionage is considered bad, unless Israel did it on purpose or by accident.
Ben Kadish is a traitor and should burn. As an American, my loyalty is set. To whom is Taki loyal?

Not that facts will mean anything to RonL, but the USS Liberty was in international waters gathering information legally. What the zionist Kadish and Israel did was illegal.
Most words have several meanings. Spying can mean illegal, secretive theft of classified information. A looser definition expands spying to any sort of information accumulation. RonL equates the two to draw a false silly conclusion. The neocons are going to have to come up with a better con than this puerile rag of sophistry.

my guess is that mega is not an individual, rather a network of high-security clearance officials with similar allegiances and hang ups. One might even argue mega is older, perhaps dating from Woodrow Wilson’s administration.

The handler of Pollard and Kadish gets a bonus, even if in the long run the result is negative for Israel. The whole West is full of rewards for destroying the West. The way to change that is to vote for Chuck Baldwin.
The definition of being a chump is voting for the two major parties and expecting them to change. We need to stop rewarding the two major parties.

Taki - I would not equate contempt for Deshowitz and Foxman to anti Semitism. Their only loyalty is to Israel, for which they make no apologies and never will. I wouldn’t even flatter them with the term “dual loyalty”. While their behavior perhaps emboldens and rationalizes anti Semitic bigotry, it is harldy the reason for its existence. I know you’re being polemical but I think it sufficient to say that, unlike great Jewish American patriots such as Caspar Weinberger, who was hardly confused about his loyalties, or those of his fellow citizens (he adovcated the death penalty for Pollard), Mssrs Foxman and Deshowitz are a discredit to an otherwise exceptional tribe. By the way, my understanding for Cap wanting Pollard executed was because he was a “false flag agent” for the Soviets (not the Chinese) at a time of heightened tensions with the USSR.

Whatever Rep. What has that got to do with domestic spying?

I heard about Foxman and some of the other loudmouth zionists hollering about this and that Kadish should be let go because he is an old man and this happened so long ago. Sure, just like they were willing to leave John Demjanjuk alone because he was old and what he was accuse of also took place long age. Right, and Demjanjuk turned out to be innocent of the phony charges.
I say that if Kadish is convicted, then execute him in the gas chamber.

Yes, the tribe of Jewish Zionist Neocons/Neolibs is exceptional indeed—exceptionally traitorous.
Here is another list of mostly Jewish ideologues that betrayed America and the West, only in this case their chosen anti-Western ideology was not Zionism, but Marxism:

Does anybody else see a pattern here?
With “friends” like these directing operations on “behalf of the West”, no wonder we are losing so badly in Iraq. It’s almost as if it is by design: protect Israeli expansionism, grow the Red-fascist Leviathan, plus get a lot of Christians killed: a three-fer!

Fry them just like the Rosenbergs, with Foxy and Dersh sitting on their laps. I don’t believe in the death penalty, but in this case, I will make an exception. We have Socialism, Communism, Zionism, the Atomic Bomb, then giving the Atomic bomb to Hitler’s partner Stalin, Israel, war with Iran, Iraq and who knows with who else. Then we have Trotsky, Jagoda, the NKVD, the huge number of communist Jewish spys, Ben Gurion, the Mossad, Bagin, Shamir, Sharon, Netahnyahu and all the other terrorists. There is the banking collapse the dollar collapse, and the looting of Russia during the Yeltzin regime. I could go on, but do we have a problem here?

Yeesh. I have no patience for anyone making excuses or temporizing for US citizens who betray the duties that come with citizenship. But can’t y’all condemn an individual spy without condemning an entire race, and without having the supremely bad taste to bring up gas chambers (which are not the method employed for federal executions. How about some good old fashioned, honest, unihibited speech, without the crazy Jew-hating? Or, if we must have it, let’s have some others calling it out. While that is desirable in its own right, and morally correct, it is also advisable if you want anyone to take you or this forum seriously when supporting or opposing specific persons or policies that actually matter in the here and now.

“To those legitimately complaining about Israel and its lobby here: did you say anything about the Irish American politicians who sent financial aid to the IRA terrorists in Northern Ireland?”
Nice try but no cigar, Mr. Ravitch. I invite you to demonstrate how Irish American politicians are invited on junkets to Ireland two or three times per year to help coordinate their activities along pro-Irish lines. I invite you to indicate the whereabouts of the “American Irish Public Affairs Committee” on K Street and show us how a visit to said group is a sine-qua-non for all American poiliticians seeking high office.
I invite you, Mr. Ravitch, to demonstrate the security guarantee that the US has given to Ireland, and which of Ireland’s “enemies” a major presidential candidate has twice threatened to “obliterate.” I invite you to name one country that the US has invaded on behalf of Ireland’s strategic interests, to indicate which Irish-American Pantagon officials planned it, and name the anti-Irish, foreign head of state who was led to the gibbet.
I invite you, Mr. Ravitch, to name the IRA leader or Irish chief of intelligence who initiated an operation in the 1950’s to commit terrorist acts against US diplomats in the British Isles, and I invite you to comment on the “celebrations” of same on their fiftieth anniversary by the sitting Irish government.
I invite you, Mr. Ravitch, to name the Irish American female journalist (at which Irish-owned “newspaper of record?") who colluded with Irish American US government functionaries in lying and manipulating the US into war.
I invite you, Mr. Ravitch, to discuss the unprecedented number of “Irish Art Students” who were apprehended surveilling US government- and public buildings prior to and after the September 11 attacks. I also invite you to comment on the Irish-owned “Moving Company,” five of whose multiple-passport-carrying employees were arrested on September 11, 2001, after they were witnessed filming the burning Twin Towers and step-dancing with malicious glee, and because of this
have become known as “The Five Dancing Irishmen.” I also invite you to tell us which Irish American Federal Judge (who is now our Attorney General) promptly ordered the release of these “moving men”, to the consternation of the police in NY and NJ.
Finally, Mr. Ravitch, I invite you to indicate how the fundamental interests of the USA, which include first and foremost stability in Middle East to ensure the free flow of the oil that is the lifeblood of our economy, are undermined by any official connections that are cultivated with Ireland, as opposed to our connections to another country that has demanded and received our blank-check participation in its own crimes that threaten our access to that same oil. As a postscript, my last invitation to you is this: Please tell us how any official connections the US may maintain to the Emerald Isle have made the killing of Americans a priority among Ireland’s enemies - you know, the people that Ireland has ethnically cleansed, oppressed, robbed and murdered since 1948.
Thank you.

Ravitch,
You are right about scumbag Irish Americans who used the power of the U.S.A., various states, and U.S. corporations to bully people in Northern Ireland and to warn the British against execercising its sovereignty on its territory.
However, as others have said, pro-Israel groups have even more more influence than Irish-Americans. Also the consequences to the U.S. are much greater getting involved in the Middle East than in Ireland so it is only right to concentrate on Israel-Firsters.
Besides, in 2008 the Irish Troubles are over - or dormant - while the Middle East is in danger of bubbling over.
I’d rank Israel Firsters as the greatest foreign lobby threat, followed by the Cuba clique down there in Miami.

I expect to hear the refrain from the Israel Firsters that, when it comes to espionage, “everyone does it.” But does everyone do it in the way Israel has repeatedly done it; that is, not merely gathering information passively, but actively pilfering classified documents? I cannot think of any time since the end of the last world war where we arrested such a spy from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Austria, unified Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan or even Mexico. Our “best friend in the Middle East” has again demonstrated that we have no friends in the Middle East.

What is the problem?
By most account, Jews own more than 50% of the wealth in this nation.
They then legally use those funds to buy the politicians. Some report show that Jewish contributions make up 70% of money raised Democrats and almost 50% for the Republicans.
As long as campaign finance laws allow this to happen, they can do whatever they want. They own the place.

Andrew, as a scumbag Irish American I cannot refrain from asking you whether there is any point in upholding England’s right to exercise sovereignty in “its “ territory of Northern Ireland when its sovereignty over Birmingham and East London is in the present state that it is. To be sure, the other twenty six counties if Eire once enjoyed the benefits of such sovereignty, as did certain erstwhile British colonies in North America (there were thirteen, I believe). I aver that there would not exist so many scumbag Irish Americans and Australians today, had it not been for the temperate and well-thought out exercise of said sovereignty.
Israel-firsters consider any display of ethnic identity and solidarity on the part of gentiles threatening to themselves, yet seize upon such to justify their own fifth-column activities. Tu Quoque ("you too") has never been a valid defense in criminal courts. Happily, no such conflict exists between Americans who nurture feelings for Ireland and their loyalty to their own country.

De Valera - Andrew, as a scumbag Irish American I cannot refrain from asking you whether there is any point in upholding England’s right to exercise sovereignty in “its “ territory of Northern Ireland when its sovereignty over Birmingham and East London is in the present state that it is.
‘England’ does not have sovereignty over Northern Ireland. England is not a state. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is a state (for now at least) and as the name suggests Northern Ireland is a part of it and that is how the people there prefer it that way (again...for now).
To be sure, the other twenty six counties if Eire once enjoyed the benefits of such sovereignty, as did certain erstwhile British colonies in North America (there were thirteen, I believe).
The people in both the northern part of North America and the northern part of Ireland both chose and continue to choose not to belong to the Republic’s to their south.
The Scots-Irish of the thirteen colonies preferred secession in the 18th century (the Irish Catholic Church supported the Crown) while those in Ireland in the 20th century preferred the status quo. Each time they chose their side then backed it up with force. It is called self determination. Some Irish Americans think they had the right to do so in the 1770s but not today.
I aver that there would not exist so many scumbag Irish Americans and Australians today, had it not been for the temperate and well-thought out exercise of said sovereignty.
Centuries later some of those ethnic Irish used political lobbies and donations to the IRA to try to take away the right of Scots-Irish in Ulster to decide their future because the latter were deemed Johnny-come-lately colonists. (They often defended this by disingenuously claiming to be fighting the ‘English’ sort of like the Israel lobby justifies the Palestinian dispossession by claiming to be merely fighting ‘terrorism’) Strangely those same descendants of Irish settlers in the U.S. and Australia - two products of the British Empire - believe that they should have more rights in the lands they settled/colonised than those who did the same in Ulster.
The lingering animosity towards the British from Irish Americans like that of Jewish Americans towards Russia appears to be rooted in their ethnic history. They should both get over these old non-American animosities and pledge loyalty to the country that gave them refuge. And that brings us back on topic.

I applaud your points, Taki. There seems to be no absolute solution to the problem.
However, as the great Catholic Queen Isabella (of happy memory) rid Spain of the
Jews as a danger to the kingdom because of their perfidy, it does seem suitable to rid
America of those Jews whose loyalties lie with Israel. In other words, send guys like
Dershowitz and Foxman, and all of the other Jewish whiners and lobbyists to “erzatz”
Israel, where they could be possible candidates for Palestinian vengeance. America stinks
of many problems, but exiling the likes of Foxman and company to Israel would be like an
enema: it would produce a release of pent up crap, bringing relief and a jauntier
spirit in which to live.

Taki is as usual spot on. Israel and Jewry in general have a holocaust dispensation that means that they can do whatever they want without consequences. I would correct one minor error, however. Pollard’s stolen secrets were largely given to the Russians, who were damned glad to receive them. The sale of military technology secrets to China came later.

You know the same media that is always accusing opponents of Bush’s foreign policy of anti-Americanism?” I think you’re confused. This is generally a paleoconservative place, not a den of neoconservatism: please learn the difference. Paleos, including myself, have generally opposed the Iraq War from the beginning, unlike many of your Democrats in Congress who voted in favor of Bush’s “Great Crusade for Arab Democracy.” (Most liberals I’ve talked to still haven’t accepted the fundamental futility democratizing the Arab world, they just don’t like the idea of evil white American males fighting brown people from the Third World to get there.) Likewise, paleos are mostly opposed to the immigration policy of the liberal-neoconservative axis. Given that so many of the neoconservatives used to belong to the far left, it isn’t surprising they find so many points of agreement.

This is an easy one to figure out. The US can borrow from the French. Back during the Cold war the govt. wouldn’t allow communists to hold profolios in the SDECE or the Armed Forces, the US should try something similar by making it policy to keep Jews and Muslims out of similar positions, seeing how all too often loyalties to others trumps that to the US prevails all too often.

Steven Lalas, a U.S. citizen of Greek decent, was convicted in the U.S. of espionage and spent 14 years in prison before being allowed to leave for Greece. Lalas supplied to the government of Greece very sensitive U.S. intelligence about Greece’s neighbors and divulged top secret information on U.S. policies towards these countries, with which Greece has normal, if occasionally strained, diplomatic relations. In spite periodic high-pitched rhetoric and occasional minor border episodes Greece has not had military conflicts with any of its neighbors since World War II (Bulgaria) or the 1920s (Turkey). Contrast this with Israel’s wars with its neighbors, the absence of diplomatic relations with most of them and the continuous terrorist attacks which are supported, covertly or openly, by some of Israel’s neighbors. Last I checked (I am also of Greek descent, have family in Greece and visit every year or two) there haven’t been any terrorist attacks on Greece by persons who have bases or are supported by the countries about which Lalas provided top secret intelligence to his Greek handlers. Arguably Jonathan Pollard had more reason to feel that his co-religionists and relatives living in Israel were under imminent threat than Lalas had for his co-religionists and relatives in Greece. Now, I happen to think that both should be in jail for life as a fitting punishment for espionage in a time of peace (death being the punishment for espionage during wartime). Yet Pollard still languishes in jail in the U.S. while Lalas, who was arrested many years after Pollard, is a free man and in Greece with his family. And this in spite of continuous requests by the Israeli government, not for Pollard’s release but for his transfer to an Israeli jail, and the relative indifference of successive Greek governments for Lalas’ fate (as the latter complained in interviews after his release). So much for the influence of the Israeli lobby…

The Pollard affair was one of the biggest espionage disasters in American history. It hardly compares with the case of a single Greek “spy” passing on information of negligible value. Israel, on the other hand, has been caught red-handed in numerous espionage fiascoes. So much for equating a lone Greek operative to AIPAC. That’s like comparing Scott Petersen to Stalin.

Oh yeah--awesome smackdown, De Valera.
Click to flag this comment as abusive
My point, which I think is being deliberately “missed”, is that the influence of the Israeli lobby is not sufficinetly great to get Pollard transferred to an Israeli jail after, what, 20+ years in prison. But it is “Nate Dawg” who is equating AIPAC with the peopel spying for Israel ("equating a lone Greek operative to AIPAC") and, therefore, can reasonably be accused of anti-Jewish libel. I made no such comparison and, in fact, it is clear to any reasonable person that many Amrican Jews (and not just Jews) have a soft spot for Israel but are not going to break U.S. law to support Israel.
Click to flag this comment as abusive
You mean they really bother to spy? Isn’t it obvious to anybody with half a brain what the plan is here? Hell are they paying for this kind of information? I’ll sell them everything they need. I have been dead on about everything from politics to the economy, to the military for the last ten years. Ok first just grab any neo-con or msm rag and read it if you can stomach it. Everything they list as a threat is on the agenda of the U.S. for intervention. It’s pretty darn easy to figure out, but if the Israelis really can’t do it then I will sell them the information.
