Perle’s Swine Song

Posted by Taki Theodoracopulos on April 19, 2007

One of the least gratifying pictures I have had the bad luck to view on television this week for the portly figure of Richard Perle expounding his vile views in The Case for War. Even worse, it was on public television, which as everyone knows is paid for by our tax dollars. The heavy-lidded Perle is hardly photogenic, although unlike most bullies of his kind, he is soft-spoken and claims to sympathize with mourning relatives of fallen soldiers. To be an advocate for war at this point is equivalent to be selling tickets for future trans-Atlantic crossings on board the Titanic one hour after the ship had struck the iceberg.

These neocons are something else. Himmler and Goebbels were upbeat even as the Soviet troops were outside Berlin. Ditto these bums. Their policies have managed to turn Iraq into a Wild West for terrorists, there is a genocide in the making which will dwarf Darfur, there will be massive floods of refugees, and this creep Perle—along with the Kristols, Kagans and Podhoretzes of this world-- are looking for Uncle Sam to invade Iran. What is particularly galling is the fact that Perle, like the rest of the neocons who were
of age to fight in Vietnam, did not fight in that hellish place because the idea of serving their country never entered their mind. Like Giuliani and Clinton, they found ways to dodge the draft.

Never mind. If Americans are dumb enough to listen to what traitors --because that is what they are, no ifs or buts about it—have to say after the greatest American foreign policy disaster ever, so be it. In their rush to spill American blood in Iraq in order to make Israel a safer place, the neocons ignored international treaties and institutions, and treated our allies as whiners and ”surrender monkeys.” Here’s what the English Spectator magazine had to say about the catastrophe in Mesopotamia: “Misjudgement of the enemy, incompetent leadership, and divisions over policy caused similar turmoil in Britain in the late 18th century.”

Yes, they are referring to our War of Independence, and one of the few who got it right back then was Edmund Burke, who stood up in the House of Commons and accused the Tory government of Lord North of being “grossly ignorant of America.” Hear, hear!  The neocons knew less about Iraq than the brits knew about the Yankees back then. Britain wanted to protect its markets and hold on to its sources of wealth in the New World, just as the Cheney cabal and their corporate friends want to hold on to its resources in the Middle East and beyond.

Just before the war began four long years ago, the ncover story of The American Conservative was “Will Victory Spell Defeat?” You couldn’t make it up, as they say. Having lived in that part of the world as a young man--my father had sent me to one of his factories in the Middle East as a form of punishment-- I knew there was no way a military defeat would end hostilities. Unlike the Wolfowitzes, Feiths and Cheneys of this world, I had also read history. Islam’s spirit is an equally formidable weapon in the present struggle. The Brits back in the 18th century called Americans scoundrels, peasants, bandits, murderers and sons of darkness. Bush calls anyone who is against us terrorists.  With not even Baghdad secured after four years, hundreds of billions spent, and an even bigger disaster in the making once our troops pull out, the White House continues to talk about victory over extremists and killers. As the Spectator wrote, “George the Second of America has proved no wiser than George the Third of Britain." Alas, truer words have never been spoken.

But we should listen to the neo-convicts, as any jury deciding on a sentence to see if the person is repentant, and even failing that smart enough to simply refrain from repeating the mistake because of bad results.

The neocons have not the virtue of repenting from something visibly wrong, or of even admitting any part of it was their fault (the army, polity, etc. we had, not the idealized one which would have won), or of even shutting up and being quiet about the whole disaster, shutting themselves in a think tank under a vow of silence (I doubt any monastery would have them)).

And the current fiction Bush and his minions are
hiding behind is that General Petraeus has formulated
and presented a new plan which, after due
consideration, they have bought into.  I never cease
to be amazed by their contempt for the intelligence
of the American people.  Does anyone actually
believe that the general had one wit of independence
from Cheney and company in his planning?  I always
come back to thoughts of Army Chief-of-Staff
Shinsecki who, after informing Rumsfeld that their
little adventure would require at least 400,000
troops, lasted about a week.

The Perle show would have been incredible if it did not
actually exist.  While it was being broadcast
hundreds of people were being blown up by the latest wave of car
bombings in Baghdad.  Watching this self-satisfied war monger
blandly ignore the disaster which he and his kind have contrived for
us in the Middle East was enraging.  Of course it was gratifying to
learn that in his youth he was inspired by JFK’s rhetoric and that
he disapproved of his friends’ Hollywood parents, whose Communist
sympathies were insincere.  No mention of Israel, though, unless I
missed something.  Does this man still have a government post or
has he found greener pastures, like Wolfowitz?

The failure to understand the FAITH-based aspects of this war boggles the mind, until one recalls that in the US, “faith” is merely a label, as opposed to a way of life.

We shouldn’t be surprised.

Perle’s character, puglic record, and enthusiasms are all worthy of analysis and condemnation. His role in killing so many fine young Americans should brand him as a war criminal.

However, I have to return to the use of demeaning and denigrating code words, and I object to your use of “swine” in connection with Perle. When mere descriptive language gives way to the use of animal imagery (pigs, dogs, wasps, etc.), we know that the speaker’s or writer’s confidence in his message is lacking. Please cease the use of negative labels, even for the most hated and guilty.

I blame Cheney most of all. This never could have happened without both the oil and the Israeli lobbies joining together.Cheney was the deal maker and still defends this mess. The democrats are right to try to impeach him. Please get someone sane in, like James Baker or general Skowcroft, somebody sane to manage the withdrawal.

I’d like to defend Taki’s use of the word “swine” in his post.
I don’t take it as describing an individual personally so much as a
generally descriptive term about the kind of society we have - see my
post “Against the Republic of Swine” at http://from-the-catacombs.blogspot.com/

The term is used in Plato’s Republic to describe a commonwealth of utter
complacency and self-satisfaction. It is also used to great effect in the
New Testament.

Bush will go down as the worst president ever, but when the american public realizes his lack of leadership and ruinous cronyism worked in concert to instigate the Iraq war with the Neocons and AIPAC, I predict there will be dire consequences for the aforementioned scumbags. Sure, as usual, let the Scots-Irish, Hispanics and inner city blacks fight the war for” peace in the greater Middle East “. The Israelis won’t do it… but who needs them ? Even with our money and weapons systems, they got their asses kicked by Hezbollah during infantry operations in Lebanon. And, during much more virulent combat against the NVA in the sixties, the Neocons showed their true cowardly nature. Thre will be changes once America wakes up.

I’m guessing the distinguished professor Noam Chomsky isn’t popular around here. Nonetheless, I feel compelled to point out that he destroyed Richard Perle in a debate. And when I say ‘destroyed’ I mean that I have never even heard of someone losing a debate this badly, much less someone of stature. It’s fascinating to witness the complete evisceration of a pathetic hack like Perle, though I assume some of you won’t be able to derive any pleasure knowing it’s Chomsky delivering the blows.

Anyway, if you’re a political geek this is truly a must:

The Brits at the Spectator must still be irked about 1776. Why else would they air brush General Washington? It should read, “George the Third of America has proved no wiser than George the Third of Britain.”

Important to remember that Perle and the whole neo-con movement got its start in the Henry “Scoop” Jackson wing of the Democratic Party back in the 1970s.  They have no party loyalty—the sole loyalty is to the extreme Israeli right.

Until people like this can actually be punished for TREASON and war crimes instead of of getting plush jobs in places like the World Bank and the American Enterlies Institute where they can push for new wars for Israel the republic will remain in grave danger.

Spare me the anti-white, guilt-addled rubbish
about “Hispanics” and blacks fighting this
war. In fact, white males are overrepresented
among the dead and grievously wounded, and most
of these are probably Southern whites and German-
Americans from small towns. If not for the
whites of small town America, Bush and the
neocons would be calling for a return to the
draft.

Both whites and Hispanics are over-represented in the dead and wounded from Iraq.  Blacks, whose enlistment and re-enlistment rates have dropped like a stone, are sitting this one out big-time.  My compliments to them for their good sense.

Where"s “Big Minh” when we really need him?

If “swine” is verboten, should we send Orwell’s Animal Farm to the rubish heap. I think not.

NeoNutzis think the world is their playground to do
with as they will. Peons be damned.

Lets take a look at the full cost of Israeli-Neocon abuse of Iraq. Almost a decade of sanctions under Bill “yes Israel” Clinton, which led to over two million deaths of Iraqi civilians. Constant bombimgs by the “coalition of the zionist lackeys” that wreaked havoc on the infrastructure and added to the generous pile of depleted uranium initially given to the Iraqi people as a gift of the first gulf war.  And now, four years of brutal devastation by the current Commander-n-Thief and his collection of crypto-zionist sock puppets: Tony Blair, John Howard, and Stephen Harper, which has lead to 650,000 deaths, 3 million refugees, the evisceration of a nation, and the annhilation of hundreds of three thousand year archeaological sites that are the common heritage of all humans. The Israelis and the neocons must be very proud.  All of this without lifting one finger, spending one shekel, or loosing one life.  Think about it; we complained when the Taliban destroyed a pair of 1500 year old statues of the Buhdda in Bamiyan.  They were amateurs compared to our legacy.

Whilst Americans are dying in Iraq in this Neocon war it is interesting to research what the US Congress is up to; for a quick snapshot you can search the online database of legislation from the current US Congress; researching legislation issued by country name you get the following results :
==========================

http://thomas.loc.gov/

Israel: 127 Bills in Congress
China: 57 Bills in Congress
United Kingdom: 42 Bills in Congress
Germany: 38 Bills in Congress
France: 32 Bills in Congress
Australia: 22 Bills in Congress
Japan: 18 Bills in Congress

===============================

The above provides everyone with a very good snapshot of what the priorities are of the “honorable” US Congress.

As long as the US Congress keeps wasting American taxpayer money by passing almost a hundred times more congressional legislation for Israel instead of focusing on important trade issues with world powers such as Japan and China there will never be any change; the US is doomed to failure because the US Congress has become a hotbed of corruption which simply no longer represents the needs of the average American.

Earlier this month it was announced that Japan’s Toyota overtook GM in global car sales; when you look at the above statistics and see that the US Congress wasted 100 times more time with Israel than with Japanese trade issues you have to agree with me that the US is doomed; its the end of the American empire which is collapsing from rampant corruption which has contaminated the entire system.

I think if the average American were aware of how the US Congress has been turned into Israel’s prostitute it would not take long before people like Perle would be kicked out of the country on the first EL AL flight to Israel or possibly to the dog cages of Guantanamo…

‘nor cast your pearls before swine’

Taki’s pun is hilarious—it’s strange that anybody would get in a huff about his sense of humor

Taki, you are right on every point but does anyone pay attention to what is in your top-drawer? I would say, alas, no one among the powers that be.
To the neo-cons, the current situation is a dazzling success of Likud policies, not the “disaster” some chest thumpers claim the current mes is.  Relatively few American (and no Jewish) casualties, Iraq in flame, her infrastructure deterirating every day, oil-revenues unaacounted for and out of her puppet government’s reach, and, best of all “Iraqis killing Iraqis” ("Goyim killing Goyim") by hundreds every day, Arabs themselves financing the war against Muslims out of petro-dollars they lend to Uncle Sam who has no intention of paying them back and genuflecting ‘leaders’ at the top of both political parties taking their orders from Tel Aviv. You call that disaster? What more do you want?

Arent you glad now that its not us who were the ones so screwed up over the past over 4 yrs even though they tried to make it look like that instead of themselves looking in the mirror? Could you imagine what it be like to think like them? What a horrible thought but they almost had us fooled even as they continue to try with very low dwindling numbers to hold on to their “resolve” garbage whatever that means?

Bush and his swine neohebs are really sick mental insane jackyls and we know that now beyond a shadow of a doubt as they cant wiggle out of this screwed up mess so they try to rationalize it and stay the course. These idiot repulsive GOP who continue to support this bogus zionist was to protect Israel only will continue to look worse and worse if thats possible. We know 30% of America is still insane for sure. We know Bush is also counting down the days until Jan 2009 when this little beadyeyed screwup silver spoon ex-drug addict drunk AWOLer chicken liver girlyboy cheerleader Daddys boy is praying he is not impeached and convicted to lose that 400,000 tax giveaway for the rest of his sorry squalid life and we know Daddy will never stop trying to continue the anti-Americanesque selfish Bush Crime Family Dynasty that goes against everything America has stood for since 1776.
Lets imagine its 1775 all over again and King George is in charge .... deja vu

Nice job taki, hound these bastages into hell, take hold of them like the pit bull and dont let go.  Let the world hear the sound of your warnings of the neocon warriors who send our boys to fight for wars that enriches their masters.

we need journalist the likes of which were around at the founding of this great Republic.

Everyone now knows that the Neocons were responsible for the 911 attacks. Perle and his ilk needed a pretext for war. Just check out the Alex Jone’s website at Infowars.com

I, too, must object to Taki’s use of the word “swine” in conjunction with Mr. Perle. It’s an unforgivable insult to an intelligent, gentle and useful creature. Traits with which Mr. Perle has no aquaintance.

But We got to protect Isreal, that’s where baby Jesus was born!
And where He will Rise again, to boot.
