War Whore

Posted by Paul Gottfried on March 30, 2007

A young friend of mine, Chris Preble of CATO Institute, recently recounted to me an incident in which Republican controversialist Ann Coulter made a statement on FOX (where else?) that Chris found “particularly disgusting.” When asked whether the U.S. should launch an attack on Iran, Ann, true to bad form, responded “Think how much fun it would be to blow up Iranians.” Having heard this Republican equivalent of Alec Baldwin say equally scandalous things for years, I was not surprised to learn of her most recent infantile outburst. Like Chris, I despise Ann but the reason for my distaste may be different from his. What disgusts me most about this loudmouth is the function she faithfully serves. Ann shills for the Republican Party, and the reason that she is the darling of FOX is that she is good at what she does. Far from being a “right-wing extremist,” as one might imagine from reading about her in the New York Times and the French press, Ann keeps the American Right from taking off as an electoral force. Her predictable answer to “godless” and cowardly Democrats is to go out and vote for generic Republicans or for Lieberman Democrats, a course of action that would allow us to kill more “towel-heads” while giving the social Left a more or less free hand domestically.

I am still waiting for Ann to attack W and Rudy for their views on immigration with the same savagery she regularly unleashes on Democrats. If Dame Coulter were a right-winger, instead of a Republican shill, she would be doing exactly this. Instead she exposes her listeners to endless tirades against “antiwar” Democrats, without even telling us that there are people on the social Right who disapprove of the present neocon-incited war in Iraq as much as the leftist bloggers. It is also never explained why starting a war against Iraq to bring its inhabitants women’s rights and the current American version of “democracy” is a “conservative” enterprise. I might find Ann minimally bearable if only she had the honesty to point out that the two parties are for the most part indistinguishable. They are both big-government, welfare-state parties, which truckle to designated minorities and which engage equally in such moronic rituals as pulling down Confederate flags to please black race-hustlers and the liberal media. If Ann told us that she hates both parties but considers the Stupid Party slightly less obnoxious than the Evil one, I would find her diatribes less disgusting. Unfortunately she spends her time whipping up her fans to vote for one of the two parties, as a serious conservative alternative to the other one. And she plays this game by impersonating what we are supposed to take for an authentic right-winger.

Coulter’s recent expression of pleasure at the thought of blowing up Iranians brought to mind the reaction of Mussolini’s son in 1936, as he watched bombs fall on Ethiopia, a country that the Italian army was then trying to conquer. The young Mussolini, a fan of the Italian Futurists, dwelled on the “beauty” of modern warfare, which he considered a source of aesthetic pleasure. Such musings raise the question of whether something that is artistically satisfying can nonetheless be morally offensive. But in Coulter’s case, there is no need to consider such a dichotomy between the ethical and the aesthetic. She and her sponsors are simply not subjects for intellectual debate. What they are about is not the unity or disunity of the beautiful and the moral but drumming up votes for Republican placeholders and hacks. In pursuit of this end, Coulter appeals to the vulgar and easily duped Right.

Not sure whay Coulter is considered a great thinker. She has snappy comebacks and insults the left.

That is great, but not sure she advances the true right like Taki, Gottfried, Jared Taylor and the late Sam Francis.

For some time I’ve known of the excellent work of Paul Gottfried. He is one of the essentials. This latest on Ann Coulter leaves nothing to add(or modify). Thanks.

What kills me is when my Faux News viewing associates inform me Ms. Coulter is “hot.” Good grief, the woman looks like a giraffe!

Ann Coulter is the mouthpiece of the Great Unwashed.  She is the intellectual and moral descendant of Dickens’ Madame La Farge in “Tale of Two Cities”, consumed with envy of her rightly perceived betters and shrieking “off with their heads” as the prima donna of a Troglodyte Chorus, with a toy guillotine in her hand.  Take a good look at some prints by Hogarth and you will see a close resemblance between Coulter and Hogarth’s caricatures of the most ghastly ginned-up and pox-infected fishmongers.

In a more civilised milieu - like, say, 18th Century New York, when it was the US capital under George Washington’s administration - Coulter would be an obscure charwoman, without even the benefit of some extra income from prostitution, because even the cheapest street-whores of 18th century New York were generally more beautiful and more charming and more interesting to talk to, and far more loving - and less diseased, at least in spiritual ways - than Ann Coulter.

Ann is an Internationalist. That right. A booster for international capitalism that she can’t distinguish from being Patriotic to the United States. Just as the left (Trotsky wing anyway)
is a proponent of international socialism, Ann is a proponent of this cancer called International capitalism. As it is currently cast, a clique organized by money, both parties and the media, get to decide which problems in the world are Our problems, and in the name of patriotism, we are to send our sons off to war for some passion that was hatched in the shadows and can’t be discussed or voted upon. It’s like chess - you get both parties and the press, all commodities that can be purchased for cash on the barrel head, you have the game. If people disagree- who cares- you have both parties- who are they to vote for. Hillary or Rudy? both pro war. A clique who cares passionately about Israeli strategic interests has cast their vision so that their fellow travelers on the American Hegemony front can swallow the thing and sell it to the masses. Is every problem our problem then? (Well no actually- East Timor is not, Tibet is not, Rwanda was not, Sri Lanka is not, Baath Separatists are not- Chechnya is not ---. Only when some calculus involving Israel and deals made by Likudniks are we supposed to gin up this “911 of the world” mentality. Just once- Just once, I want somebody to respond to “we cant negotiate with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - he wants the destruction of Israel” with as loud and rude. WHO CARES. Israel has atomic weapons. They can and will decide what their national interest is. Why is this any of our business? If we want oil security- we are on the wrong side here. If we want to prevent Iran from becoming a regional power which Israel might have to deal with as an equal in power- We can’t stop that. All we can do is make Iran our enemy, and make Israel and the US into world pariah, Occupy Muslim countries, and push a US toad government that is loyal only to internationalism and world capitalism. It’s funny how the pundits run from the likely solution after we leave. Partition into a Iran Shiite part, a Sunni part which migh become its own state, and the Kurds. Bush Coulter etc hate nationalism of this ilk. They see any “narrow sectarianism” as a loss, and only “Anschluss” with the clique that runs the western world as victory. This same clique has already conquered the US, subverted it’s culture, press, and institutions into it’s service,- both parties and the press, and Ms. Ann Coulter.

The left used to forgive ALger Hiss because after all Russia was our ally- right? so why is helping an Ally so bad? He was a traitor, and he was loyal to the intellectual internationalism of the time- communism.  How we have to deal with the detritus from the cold war, the evil twin that was created from the leftists that jumped ship. Sidney Hook and the left of that ilk invaded the republican party and created their own flavor of internationalism . But this kind of system leaves open the levers of power to purchase by a quorum of powerful people operating in the shadows with bales of cash, to control the posture of our foreign policy. And we were sold in the cloak room to the Likudniks in deals made in the shadows when Bush came to power. Any cries of WHO CARES when it comes to our slavish devotion to the radical settler movement types in Israel would find a career cut short. How once will you see this. Even Buchanan walks on egg shells on this. He prints one thing but he would never utter a “WHO CARES” out loud on national media. You can dig this out in a blog, but the propaganda organs are Israeli held territory, as are both parties.

So I am an evil person for wanting my country back then? I don’t wish Israel, or even the settler movement radical any ill. I just don’t want the power to discuss if we want our country is the foxhole with them. No main-stream media will do this. No person of any sort of mainstream press stature can or will do this. This situation, in a country that used to be free- must stop somehow, but we have sold our soul to international capitalism, and we can’t buy it back, and don’t see how we can ever recover. All I am advocating is an wide discussion of this issue. - Is every problem is the world that some powerful clique in the media and party machinery promote going to be adopted without some alternate view being even debated. Iraq is only a tactical issue. The strategic issue is Israel, but the ultimate strategic issue is whether we can survive unless we learn to find a national voice for debating the wisdom of WHO CARES, and finding a way to enable the voters to choose it if they wish.

On the brighter side, viewpoints such as those articulated by Miss Coulter and other neoCons are becoming so repellent to many thinking people that it is only a matter of time before they and their ideology will be discarded by many people who are seeking something better. When that happens, Libertarians, Paleoconservatives, and genuine American Nationalists will be ready. Nobody will get all of the former neocons, but everyone should get something. Perhaps a revival of genuine conservatism will then be possible, and the Ann Coulters, along with the wretched politics they represnent, will do nothing but leave a bad smell in the nostrils of decent people, both here and around the world!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!
David K.Meller

I like Ann better than I like Taki.  I like pro-war views better than anti-war views.  I like W better than I like his critics.  I like Israel too. Israelis are on my side.
So forth and so on.  The choice is mine and nobody elses. So long as I am free to make up my own mind, there will be war.
So---does anybody wish to remove said freedom from me?  Hmmm???

Dave -
Don’t worry.  Just pursue the line you’re following and you’ll remove your own freedoms.  Nice how true principles work out like that.

So Dave, you’re over in Iraq or Afghanistan fighting terra, right?

Imputing actual ideas to Ann Coulter is like
ascribing morals to Karl Rove.

I think Dave was having some April Fool’s Day fun with us.

Dave is what people actually in the military used to call
an “Armchair General.” He talks a tough game from a nice, comfy chair
in his living room, but will never fight for what his tiny mind
“believes.” People not int the military call these people
“Chicken Shits.”

Ann Coulter War Whore

Ann Coulter has been fighting the Dems since Billy Boy.

Where does she get her financial backing from? Rightwingers.

Who buys her books? Rightwingers.

Who listens to her tirades on the radio? Rightwingers.

Which companies recently dropped advertisement support for her right-wing rant? Responsible companies.

It’s just the beginning.

Troubled Texan

Dave, nobody here wants to take away your freedoms. Frankly, I couldn’t be bothered. But you must understand that your freedoms do not impose any obligations on me. You like war? Fine. You fight it. I’m not going to, and there’s nothing you can do about that. Get over it.

Suppose by some miracle- enough people on main street would hear the isolationist message-- we are working against “the” myth of the modern age in the USA. Schools, history channel, media, ... all label such views as immoral or dangerous, and we get WWII, the giant of all triumphalist myths, shook in our face. But by some miracle, suppose the population in general was to actually be exposed to and think about the issues. Who will they vote for anyway? Suppose a real revulsion toward foreign policy misadventures gripped the land, and the parties were forced (somehow- who would make them do so- but anyway we are supposing) to field a real candidate that would narrowly cast our national interest overseas. Then the medaling ba****ds would engineer another pearl harbor, and get, with lies and deception, what they could not get by arguments, and by winning an election if it came to that. After WWI the country really was fed up with foreign policy crap in Europe. Didn’t matter. Roosevent moves the fleet to Hawaii, and engineers a way to get the US into the war. After Pearl Harbor, the anti war forces were totally beaten and they knew it.  I am not optimistic that a multi ethnic and vastly powerful country like the US can ever find a way not be ridden hard and put away wet by somebody with enought cash to explain to the media and JOE on main street what his duty is to “world democarcy” or some such mindless abstraction, for which we will gladly send our sons to die.

and Dave: I am not hoping thwart your will by bullying and buying the political and media machinery. I am only wondering how the US could reposition the role of the media and political parties so that alternate foreign policy postures could be even considered after a fair hearing of all sides. After that, if the country still wants to go to war, I would disagree, but I would not feel like the decision was the product of a clique with money purchasing the chess pieces needed to guarantee the result they want.  This is a PR-ocracy. Advertising and propaganda work when there is no alternative fairly presented in a wide venue.

Let Bacchus Sons be not dismayed,
Now join with me each jovial blade
And drink and sing
And help me with the chorus.

Instead of spa, we’ll drink brown ale,
Pay the reckoning upon the nail
So not a man will go to gaol,
From Garry Owen in Gloria.

Now guess where I used to hear that song folks.  I figure with three VN tours under my belt that I have earned the right to evaluate the current fracas. And it is about time that others learn that those things which enable human survival----volition, culture and population density----guarantee that there will be war. That being the case, hurrah for them thar furrin wars.  Being a true isolationist, I spread napalm on other people’s countries, not on my own. I also have pretty good sense about who is on my side and who is not.  ‘Nuff said.

Dave- we are being played for suckers. If you like fighting for fightings sake- ok, we need soldiers that are weak on the political analysis front I suppose, but as a citizen, you have no problem about being lied into war? Just the Iraq part will cost us 1/2 a trillion dollars soon, 3000+ dead soldiers, being in the foxhole with Israel has made us international pariahs. If you want to evaluate the current fracas, don’t do it as a soldier who blindly follows orders. Do it as a national patriot who considers what if any national interest is being served, and if not the US general national interest, then who’s interest is served by this. Remember, 9/11 was caused by 15 or so guys armed with box cutters (probably bought them at some Boston wall mart). Learned to fly in a Hollywood Florida flight school. (with Mossad watching their every move it turns out). Came here on visa’s from Germany. Did it because binLadin was angry as US troops being stationed in Saudi Arabia and about US support of Israel and Likud policy toward the West Bank. Every day we are over in Iraq increases the number of people in the world that would be willing to be on that 9/11 team. Every day our danger increases because you are determined to serve the national interest of a foreign power (Israel) and server their regional security interests. After 9/11 the citizens in Tehran held candlelight vigils for the victims of 9/11.  Even as the Mossad “Urban Movers” in Jersey were giving each other high fives as they watched the towers burn.  AlQaeda has an international agenda too. They are our enemy. So are people that put the strategic interests of Israel, (menacing Iran, Syria etc) above those of the US. There is NO evidence that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons. That PC they found with the technical nuclear documents and some scraps of HU from gear bought from Pakistan- thats it. The documents are amateurish and the whole thing smells like a plant. The HU, in the tiny amounts found, can easily be contamination from it’s prior owners. They have a right to develop peaceful Uranium enrichment. Their crime is Hezbolah- and why is this OUR concern.  If Israel want to attack Iran, let Them do it. Reagan took the troops out of Lebanon after the attack on the marine barracks. That was the correct action. Stationing US troops in Saudi Arabia after the 91 war by Bush 41 was galactically stupid. If you want peace and security in the US, put US interests first. If you want to be a mercenary for another country, fine, but if you want the entire country to become one, lets at least allow a discussion first.

“We” are being played for suckers?  Who is this “we”?  Are you pregnant or do you have a mouse in your pocket.

And I do not know about you, but I was not lied to about this war.  I knew what we were getting into and I had a pretty good sense of how there would be some hard lessons learned before a smooth course was established.  George W. Bush has accomplished what Harry Truman did; He has committed the USA to a course of action that may be abandoned only at our own peril.  My approval, or anybody else’s is rather irrelevant.

By the way, I could refute the Israeli/Mossad 9/11 theory point by point on G2 grounds.  I shan’t bother.  We here at Rednecks for Social Responsibility (the PALEOneoconconspiracydotcom)know different and those that believe that line are either of the opposition or self-deluded.  Ditto for the “grievances” of terrorists. Sources are E to F, Information is a 5.  The well-being of my people and the well-being of the Israeli people are one and the same. If we are both still around come 2100AD, there is no doubt that both of us will have done numerous things that displease you.  I judege that we will still be around and that that which incurs your displeasure will be why we made it.  There is NO zero-sum game here.

Final note:  The other side cannot win unless they establish a caliphate. A large section of the world hermetically sealed from our influences from which they practice varying degrees of coercive proseltying on our homelands. With Israel in the mideast, such a caliphate is very difiicult indeed.  With Uncle Sam camped along the Tigris and Euphrates, it is impossible. That amounts to darned good positional warfare.  Hold onto it for another 12 to 15 years (most probable) or maybe 30 years (worst case basis) and dreams of caliphate will be no more. We are running but 100 to 1500 battle deaths per year.  Those losses are regrettable but affordable.  To paraphrase Grant, I’ll fight it out on this line if it takes all century.  Now, won’t you come to the bower?

The “We” - Dave- refers to the collective called the United States Of America.

About being lied into war.- When Bush said “We know Saddam has WMD” either he did not know the meaning of the words “know”, or “has”, or he lied. Saddam HAD them in 91, and destroyed them. “Know” means something too. Usually people understand what “know” means. Take the evidence, and lay it on the table. A lunatic called Curveball, whose German handlers warned us was unreliable. Chalabi, the self serving plutocrat. Some aluminum tubes which many experts said were not suitable for centrifuges to enrich Uranium because they were galvanized among other reasons. That portable weapons lab which most experts said was a gas generator for balloons. This grab bag of junk was what they gave Collin Powell as he spoke before the UN, and how is as ashamed of this performance. Yes, we were lied into war. This evidence was cheery picked from the discard pile by Feith and the office of special plan types and the clique within the DOD and Executive.

Looks like Likud will regain power in Israel, and the radical settler movement will be back in the drivers seat. Their allies in the US, both Christian and Jewish, will write as many blank checks as they need, to do whatever they want. You have no argument about a US media and political parties which will explain to the US citizens what their duty is and like some pathetic Gulliver, hear our masters voice and obey. In this “democracy”, some way needs to be found to prevent this or any clique to buy all the essential organs of political power, both parties and the press. I am only arguing for a way to be found to have this discussion in a popular large public forum. This letter would never be published in a large circulation metro paper, and no “respectable” public figure could assume this public stance on saying no to Israel. ZOA an JINSA guys like Woolsey ran the CIA. Explain how a guy like Feith, very close to being an agent for a foreign power, could ever attain a positon of such power in the US- under secretary of defense. It’s Alger Hiss again.

Get off your knees Dave.  Take the country back.  Even if you like Israel, what we have done is to marginalize every Arab and Sunni moderate. The radicals can say- see I told you so, they are over here and they want to have their way with us. The neutral or moderate Muslim population is being radicalized by this, and a Global threat Al-Qaeda is the benefactor. Even Israel is now threatened by a Shiite crescent from Iran to Syria, with vastly enhanced power and public support due to our militant foreign policy. Our interventionist foreign policy will fail t bring us or Israel security, and we keep putting more chips on the table, so when we go down, we will create what was not there before with any strength, an international threat to the United States.

If Netanyahu comes back, and goes after Iran and Syria, those Carrier battle groups in littoral waters like the Persian Gulf, will suffer some great losses, and the bastards will have their second Pearl Harbor. Oil will skyrocket and the world economy will tank.- Discussion will stop as it does in the face of enemy attack, both here and in Iran.  Now is the tiny window to present the choices to the American Public. Exactly why is support for a Israeli Zionist radical settler movement in the interests of the US. If our press and political parties will not allow that discussion, then we are simply a conquered national already.

Russia, under Yeltsin, gave their own Oligarchs (mostly Jewish but this is politely ignored) free rein to buy the country with international cash. The wrecked nationalized industry was on the block- cheap. Media and TV too. Oil ...  But Putin stopped them, and is trying to get the country back from them. He may succeed, but he has incurred the wrath of the oligarchs. Some are in jail, some fled to Israel, and Britain. Now they are screaming that Putin is grabbing the media. as if a media purchased and sold into the service of foreign money was in some sense the normal free state of affairs.  When the clique owns everything and is responsible to nobody, and uses their media and political power to justify their reign and explain to the rest of us what our duty is to this new “world democratic system”. then you will see tyranny on a scale mere runaway nationalism could never achieve. There is almost no time left for the US. Russia has a little bit more time since Putin.

This will be my last comment on this current subject:  All who read and do not have a case of CRIS (Cranial Rectal Inversion Syndrome) are invited to scroll up and read my comments on caliphate.  Stop the caliphate or wish that you had.  No other choices are available.

Ain’t it funny.  Some skinny, half-naked blonde makes a flippant remark and, in all seriousness, gets called a whore by a columnist who used to be noted for astute insight.  That is followed by all sorts of commentary deriding an obviously talented woman.  I speak up on the blonde’s behalf and get called a few names myself.  I daresay by people who would not dream of going and doing as I have done.

And the whole nine yards is topped off by a Luciferian-inspired anti-Israel tirade about how those friendly to these United States are the problem and those opposed to the USA are the solution.

What part of “Go to Hell” do you not understand?

Friendly to the US? What have they ever done for us? Turkey fought with us is Korea. Israel?- nope. Pollard actually gave US sigint code to Israel, and they gave it to Russia in exchange for letting more Jews immigrate to Israel. friends? Ask the USS Liberty Crew. Maybe read up on the Lavon affair. Frields? They take. not give. They sold US obtained radar data to China, in violation of their license. They do as they wish, because there are no consequences. If you think they are are our friends, you are mistaken. Due to our friends, we will have 4 dollar a gallon gas, half a trillion dollar Iraq war debt, 3000+ dead soldiers, being a world pariah being in the foxhole with Israel. I am not pro Arab, I am pro US, and that means a disengagement from the whole Middle East before our friends get to attack their strategic enemies, and if it takes a new Pearl harbor to do it, they won’t cry one bit.

Oh I understand Go to hell just fine. You don’t like to answer questions though. The Caliphate is your concern? Sunni and Shiite hate each other more than they hate us. Iran will have their day in the sun, but the Sunni’s are a spent force. Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia have made peace with Israel, and don’t really care about the Palestinians. I don’t much care either if Israel has their manifest destiny phase. I just don’t want the US to be part of it without a debate, stopped now by bullying by AIPAC. This summer their will be a trial of the AIPAC guys that were doing espionage. frields all. just like Alger Hiss. allies.

The motto is Mossad is “by way of deception thou shalt do war”. Why exactly do you think Israel is friendly toward the US. Have they ever fought with us in a war? Nope. Turkey was in Korea, and lost more than a token number of men. Was Israel there? Nope. When Pollard gave the SIGINT codes for critical US nuclear response codes to Israel, they gave them Russia in exchange for the right of some additional Jewish to immigrate to Israel. Friends? Now Israel and their US allies are clamoring again for Pollards release. Maybe you should ask the crew of the USS Liberty about our “friends”. Ask yourself, if Israel thought there was an existential threat from Iran, would they not trick us if the could not convince the US to fight this war for/with them? Of course they would. If they had to engineer another US Pearl harbor to do this, do you think some kind of scruple would prevent them from doing this? Read “By way of deception” by mossad officer victor Ostrovsky. They are not our friends. They get what they can from us, and use us to their ends, but they will sell us out in heartbeat if they think its to their national advantage. They sold sensitive radar AWACS technology to china that they received from the US, in violation of their agreements. Later this summer, Rosen and Weissman from AIPAC are going on trial as spies. friends? More like Alger Hiss. Most people in the world know about this history. They know what the Lavon affair is? You never heard of it- right. Goggle it. You don’t believe that mossad was watching the 9/11 conspirators in Florida?
They lived a few houses down from them. You don’t believe they were happy that 9/11 happened, and that the US was now firmly in the foxhole with Israel? google “Dancing Israelis” Read Scott Hortons
http://www.scotthortonshow.com/2007/02/23/antiwar-radio-christopher-ketcham/
Israel is not our enemy, butto them, we are a thing to be ridden like a donkey and put away wet. Thats the extent of our friendship.  They will spy on us, perpetrate acts of terror and blame it on our enemies if it suits them, fire on our ships if it suits them. Friends? google “Dr Philip Zack” about the anthrax scare. Read a little bit more broadly Dave before you are so sure they are our friends. JINSA and ZOA and AIPAC are not looking after the US interests.
