One correction though. The "clash of civilizations" is no "neocon sponsored contest". Unlike "Islamo-fascism," it's quite real. In fact, it's the neocons who deny the entire concept. They denounce its principal inventor, Samuel Huntington, as something close to a racist. Why? Because Huntington asserts that people and cultures are different, and not easily changeable. This challenges the very foundation of the neocon democracy project: that everyone is the same and all cultures are malleable to western, democratic standards. All we need do is bombard our little brown, or black, or yellow brothers with enough cruise-missiles, ipods, rap music, feminism and U.S. taxpayer dollars. That, and a few thousand (million?)
