I know kids tend to live in an imaginary world, but I really don't want to validate that world that is supposed to be imaginary by pretending Santa Claus is real. And there is NO way to connect Santa Claus with St Nicholas, as I've heard some parents suggest. Santa Claus' name may derive from that of St Nicholas, but that's all the similarity there is.
