I do think that the more one reads the history of the Church the more one understands that am original heresy is a difficult thing to achieve :) Kevin. In his First Encyclical, Pope Benedict did cite Documents from Vatican Two. I can't think of a Council that did not trail in its wake all manner of crackpots, knaves, nitwits, schismatics, heretics, fanatics etc etc but they were, and are, well outnumbered by those who accepted the Teachings of the various Councils with docility and gratitude.
