His greatest work is his much lesser known science fiction trilogy - Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, and That Hideous Strength. The last named combines elements of romantic fantasy from the Arthurian legends, a chillingly prophetic negative utopia, and a truly creepy horror story. I'd probably rate it as my favorite novel other than Quo Vadis. Sent at: 2008 10 06
