Communism was doomed from the start, because it's total nonsense, and the Cold War was an atrocious waste of blood and treasure. But then there's this bit, evidencing Mr Raimondo's willfully blinkered refusal to think about the historical reality of the power of Nazism and the fact that it had to be destroyed by military force: "...Huns or the Nazis. These were two outbursts of pure barbarism, and neither, in any case, lasted very long, precisely for that reason: their own evil caused them to explode from internal pressures." What? What the hell? Please explain how the combined forces of the Red Army and the two great powers of the West, and other allies, was "internal pressure". Germany was full of true believers in Nazism until the very end, many of whom committed suicide in 1945. In contrast, virtually no Communist Party members in any country committed suicide in reaction to the end of Communism, because unlike the Nazis, hardly any Communists believed in Communism.
