I think the problem is that today's generation of Jews, who never proved to themselves their ability to survive catastrophe, are many more times as paranoid as the ones who came out of the camps alive. Perhaps they have heard too many bedtime horror stories from their parents and grandparents. Keeping the memory of the Jewish holocaust alive is good fundraising technique but may be bad psychology.
