I've written about it here and elsewhere, but again, as Nergol's comment above shows, people have trouble understanding these issues until it's too late. <i>Chronicles</i> columnist Roger McGrath says that, as late as the 1980's, he would discuss immigration with conservative friends outside of California, and they'd laugh. You see, the massive waves of Hispanics were just a problem for Californians, not the rest of the country. They're not laughing now. But some, like Nergol, now only see Hispanic immigration. The fact that the fastest-growing group of Muslim converts are recent Hispanic immigrants, and that groups such as CAIR have set up divisions to target Hispanics for conversion, doesn't phase them. It should. CAIR and other Muslim groups are doing their best to make the myth of Andalusia and the myth of Aztlan converge. Sent at: 2008 07 25
