It is simply the Jewish form of nationalism. Like other nationalisms it is hostile to other nations at best and dangerous to them at worst. The problem with Israel as a nation is the moral, political and financial blank check which the US has given it. Given the ability to draw on the resources of an almost all-powerful protecting empire, any other client state would have behaved as badly or worse. Cutting off aid to Israel will not force it to behave well, but will allow for its bad behavior to be somewhat checked by the bad behavior of its neighbors. Sent at: 2008 05 15
