Surely, they play a part in many issues. But many other factors influence US foreign policy as well. For starters, the bomb-Iran campaign was mainly a blog phenomenon---still is actually. Ultra-hawkish neoconnish chickenhawk teenage keyboardwarriors want to bomb Iran, because they fear Islam and they honestly, yet stupidly, think bombing Iran is the way to go. It's not just the US, you know. France's Sarkozy --- and majority of the French people too, considering the latest PEW research --- can't wait to join in the action too. And they don't have an AIPAC over there. Us Westerners, who silently go along with all the militarist madness, we're a big part of the problem.
