I simply admitted their right to let them in." Frank, your arguments are at best disingenuous. In Australia, as presumably in many other western societies, there has never been a referendum on whether mass Asian immigration should be allowed. The politicians were well aware that such a referendum would be defeated. Instead, it was all done by backdoor methods, with foolish, traitorous organisations such as the Roman Catholic church happy to play along and provide "moral" support for the government. There appeared to be a large opportunistic element to this support, as they saw in mass immigration of Asian catholics a means of increasing church numbers and power, and a means of tapping into a large and growing market (ie Asian catholicism).
