Message: Entry: Iraq: The Web of Lies Link: http://www.takimag.com/site/article/iraq_the_web_of_lies#1311 Post contents: Patrick Foy is one heck of a writer. I really like his clear, concise way of making his points. This article expresses what I've been convinced of for many years. Israel is and has been working to cause conflict in the region to gain primacy, the old "divide and conquer." I guess I'd actually call it "divide, incite internecine warfare and weaken." Israel has been doing it since at least the early 60's when they incited the Kurds to revolt against the government in Baghdad. Heck, in 1957 they were instrumental in getting the British and French to invade Egypt. That lasted a very shot time as Eisenhower told them to get the f**k out, and they did. That is when the British politicians put the poodle leash around their collective necks and handed the master-end of the leash to The White House. Actually, the first British poodle was not Tony Blair, it was British Prime Minister, Anthony Eden. The Iran/Iraq war was the first full-blown effort by the US and Israel to destroy countries of the Middle East that did not fall under their sovereignty and/or kowtow to their dictates. The US supported Iraq while the Israelis sold war materials to the Iranians, which by the way were paid for by US taxpayers. So in fact, we supported both sides of the conflict. The goal was for both sides to destroy each other as much as possible. Remember, the Shah of Iran was the largest purchaser of US weapons in the 60's and 70's. Where the heck did the Iranians get parts, supplies and ammunitions for all of those US weapons? It was Israel, who got them from the US under our military giveaways to the Israelis. The Israelis made a boatload of money off that war at US taxpayers expense. Sent at: 2008 05 16
