Ron Paul is the only GOP candidate I could enthusiastically support. I suppose I could cast a ballot for Tom Tancredo or Duncan Hunter, in order to derail the career ambitions of people like Rudolph Giuliani and/or Hillary Clinton, but it would be a tepid endorsement of their candidacy based largely on the sensible position they share on immigration (arguably the most important issue of the day). I could never support any of those other Republican candidates (including potential candidates Fred Thompson and Newt Gingrich), although in fairness, Tommy Thompson of Wisconsin doesn't seem too bad; he has a halfway sensible plan for what amounts to peace-with-honor-emphasis-on-the-peace in Iraq. I can't condone referring to Rudolph Giuliani as "Il Duce." Despite his myriad flaws, poor ol' Benito doesn't deserve that indignity. Neo-"conservatives" are worse than fascists in my book.
