Message: Entry: Civil Rights and Wrongs Link: http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/civil_rights_and_wrongs#14829 Post contents: About Libertarians many fine things can be said. Two in particular, 1. They generally avoid racialism and Judeophobia, and they have a contempt for nationalism. 2. They know that The State is a bad institution. The State is an invention of Machiavelli, who coined the term, and was philosophically worked out by Hobbes. The Greeks, the Romans, and the Medievals had government, but not The State. Set up to defend life (Hobbes) and property (Locke), The State has become the worst enemy of both. Sent at: 2008 11 21
