Better an open enemy than a false friend. An open enemy can be converted, but a false friend keeps you shackled with false promises, and keeps you from taking action on your own. There should be a penalty for that kind of behavior, because if there is none, then they will know that the way to deliver bad policy to the American people is to promise "one day" to do something about abortion. It is not going to be easy to get rid of abortion, we better accept now, it will be a long haul, and we may have to do some soul searching about the way single mothers have been treated, and are still treated (as a source of cheap labor, for one), and stop believing that Politician A or Politician B will do it for us if we are good and vote for him like sheep.
