The poor slob never saw it coming.I had a chat with Buckley at a political dinner in late 1991, just after Buchanan annouced.We talked about McCarthy,Buchanan and how his father was a strong isolationist.Then a couple of months later he writes that awful screed about Buchanan and antisemitism.I never saw it coming,I should have dropped the magazine 10 years before I did.
