The Pakistanis helped with concept, Avionics, and airframe design. They further inspired a modular approach to the project. The result is a beauty that has better avionics and aerodynamics than the F16. It has already achieved a better power to weight ratio. The engine is no problem, firstly Putin himself signed his agreement for the supply of the RD93 to Pakistan. The Chinese version has even more power. The beauty in the concept is not only mdularity in the components permitting continuous improvement, but very simple field maintenance which makes it operationally user friendly. Aseembly line production has already commenced in Pakistan. 4 Airforces have placed orders and another 10 have expressed interest. The Jf 17 does most everthing an F16 can including BVR etc. It is the poor man's F16.
