A few words of common sense: Today, Man has the ability to destroy (at the very least) all HUMAN life on earth, or at least any Human life worth living, in a matter of around one hour. Just one hour, just a few pushes of buttons can turn this Earth into a planet in which, even if some life might continue (and even that's doubtful), very little if any Human life could continue, or would have any reason to want to.
