If private banking decided to use some other form of "collateral" to print notes, and if others were willing to accept that "collateral" (eg silver, oil, platinum, etc.) then in no way would Dr Paul oppose it. As for the money being "held accountable to the people’s representatives", I can only guess at what you mean. Would you be at all at odds with the US Congress declaring gold to be money?
