He would have taken South Carolina and Missouri too were it not for the strange Republican field this year. Say what you want about David Duke. He actually won a primary. That's something Ron Paul still hasn't done. Here in Alabama, back in 2006 the atheist Larry Darby carried 33 of 67 counties in the DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY running as a Holocaust denier! Ron Paul had millions upon millions of dollars to spend on television advertising and came away with a mere 3% of the vote. Ron Paul had a huge chance in Central and South Alabama. Derbyshire correctly points out that he blew it by not invoking the National Question in a year of identity politics. Obama stole the war issue.
