Message: Entry: A March to Nowhere Link: http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/a_march_to_nowhere#17016 Post contents: It is a sad, depressing spectacle when people cannot let go of their illusions. Dr. Paul put a game fight, but he was hampered by having to do within the Republican Party - a party full of neocons and neocon-enablers, who let talk radio hosts define their policy, as if there was not a long history of the dangers of letting rabble rousers run the show (at least there were no heads paraded on pikes...) He might have had a chance as a Thrid party candidate, or at least have gotten himself and his message more in the public view. As it is, we have to face it, the next President will be HillBill "we know her well", Obama "hopemonger", or McCain "Hundred years war". We have to decide which is the best deal we can get, and go for it. It is not as if we can dictate terms. As Pat Buchanan said last night, the Republican leadership hasa been enabling George Bush and his entourage for too long, and now there is Hell to pay. The revolt should have happened four years ago, at least. Sent at: 2008 07 05
