A third party candidacy by either Barr or Paul would provide an easy excuse to the establishment statist Republicans to blame Barr or Paul for their coming ass-kicking in 2008. Better Paul and Barr be around to remind those left that they tried to warn them, and then they can lead the restoration of paleo/libertarian/conservatism. Justin is understandably frustrated by the ratcheting down of the Paul campaign but it's time to close ranks, trust his judgement (he is the only one who has done the third party gig and he knows of what he speaks) and continue the process of networking and supporting Ron Paul-like candidates.
