Message: Entry: Honor-Killings, Islam, and Christendom Link: http://www.takimag.com/site/article/honor_killings_islam_and_christendom#1788 Post contents: I'm inclined to agree with Peter RV. Killing of women out of sexual jealousy or lust is quite common in the (no longer) Christian West. It's just that nobody pretends it has anything to do with honor. What's more, child killing on an industrial scale, is the practice of the West, not yet of the Moslem countries. When the Israelites of the divided monarchy spent generations burning their children in honor of pagan gods, the Lord sent against them the Assyrians and Babylonians - not because the latter were mild and loving, but precisely because they weren't. It's a lesson that modern men and women should, but probably won't learn until many more have been killed or raped in the name of honor. Sent at: 2008 11 21
