I'm not saying that if your sister-in-law needs a place to stay for a few weeks to send her packing to the nearest homeless shelter run by a Religious Order. At that point, because of your obligations to family, it would be best to take her in yourself. However, it's not your responsibility to take in strangers yourself; the Good Samaritan teaches that lesson. He pays the innkeeper to take over after his initial, necessary charity.
