The gay bath-houses in San Francisco were shut down. An outspoken gay libertarian I worked with loudly announced that AIDS was a right-wing hoax intended to end gat liberation, and that he had switched his frequent patronage to a still-operating gay bath-house in Berkleley, which was all_American to preserve individual liberty in the face of Establishment oppression. Guess who succombed rather soon. Very possibly Mother Nature is doing a climate change, and adding greenhouse gasses is just enhancing the effect. Jimmy Carter put it very nicely when he remarked that science is our way of trying to learn how God does it. So let's please not regard the prospect of global warming as an anti-capitalist plot by a bunch of killjoy leftist eggheads and hope that we will soon have a good idea of what's actually going on.
