On the other hand, about forty years ago, Asia showed a lot of depresssing pictures. Poverty, unrest, going backwards in things that matter (Burma is still there). Yet no one calls Asian countries hopeless now. Instead they talk of Asian tigers, or the growth of China and India, the performance of Vietnam, etc. etc. In forty years, we may have to eat our words about Africa too... Sent at: 2008 08 29
