Sorry, but the fact that most Americans buy the pilgrim myth as the foundation on which America was built is more likely due to the domination of public education by New England zealots beginning immediately after the defeat of America at the hands of the radical republicans during Lincoln's war. Our public schools propagandize relentlessly, beginning with the nonsensical tales of the pilgrims and continuing into the deification of Lincoln.
