Message: Entry: Our Task Link: http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/another_posting#22412 Post contents: "Mr. Linder should be receiving checks from David Frum and Abe Foxman for the service he has rendered..." Absolutely. I've often reflected that gun-control zealots and big-government worshippers should erect a memorial in gratitude to Timothy McVeigh -- he was one of their best friends. As someone who has recently been enthusiastically and heatedly criticizing another one of your columnists (Mr. Seitz), I think I speak disinterestedly in saying that the choice to delete or screen comments should naturally be up to the Takimag staff. It's y'all's website, after all, a fact that the white nationalist crowd seems to forget. Only sissies cry "Free speech, free speech!" when they find their boorish interjection into someone else's conversation unwelcome. "This site should be the flag-ship all those who dissent from the current regime seeking a gathering place of kindred spirits." Kevin is correct -- or rather, the question is whether one is interested in using a website as a battleground for a "meme-war" of propaganda of paleos/libertarians vs. WN, or whether a website should be used to establish some sort of cyber-community. I'd add that there can be no sense of community without the right to exclude -- another point which the WN crowd (very ironically) seems to miss when whining about censorship. WN expectations of inclusion are rather like an atheist demanding admission to a Bible-study group, so that he may mock the Apostles. "Open-mindedness", in short, is newspeak for the belief that one should allow the lowest common denominator to define the aims of a discussion, overriding the purposes of everybody else.
