That was apropos of nothing. What is apropos is that no one has done more than you, Professor Gottfried, to make me believe we'd be better off if the modern "academy" no longer existed. I now find myself pining for its destruction or collapse. In light of your writings on its vulgar, hegemonic behavior, Dr. Gottfried, I'd like to see you now try to convince us that it retains, on balance, any value, moral, social, political, or otherwise.
