They are going for a slice of the the humor market dominated by Mad Magazine and National Lampoon. This may however be a mistake. Granted, it is indeed a savy attempt to play up to the tasts of your geeky libertaroid...but going up against the legendary Mad and Lampoon may be beyond the talents of the present editors and writers. Note for example the tacky artwork on the cover, far inferior to the moronic gaze of Alfred E. Newman. I'm afraid that Reason either has a lack of capital or creativity or both and the best that could be hoped for under the present circumstances would be a friendly buy out from one of its two competitors.
