In today's economy, Ropke would find that when people practice thrift it is called "lack of consumer confidence" and it is bad economic omen... Our economy is the closest thing to a perpetual motion machine. If people stopped buying what they cannot afford and saved instead, it would be a catastrophe of unbelievable proportios.
