In what sense? Would I concede, for instance, that the United Nations today presents a greater threat to the lives and welfare of most Americans than the Bush administration does? Hell, no. John Lukacs was absolutely right 20 years ago when he said that the nation-state may be dying, but nationalism is alive and well, and it will be perhaps the defining force of the 21st century. (By the way, Lukacs is not in favor of the nation-state dying; as a patriot, he wishes to preserve it. He was simply making an observation.) If, on the other hand, you mean "Do you regard the destruction of national sovereignty as a grave issue?" then the answer is "Absolutely." And currently, the greatest threat to American national sovereignty comes not from without but from within--from the American nationalists who are bankrupting this country and killing its sons and daughters in an unjust war.
