That some on the right are actually considering him a viable option is depressing. As Anthony Gregory said over at LRC "[Obama] actually terrifies me precisely because I find him rather likeable (sic). When a radical libertarian finds something to like in a statist of this caliber, you know we are dealing with a dangerous politician." There are time's I want to curse Ron Paul for turning my unfocused sense of "something is wrong" into a clear understanding of the issues facing our dying (dead?) republic. It was invigorating when I had the naivety to think he might actually pull it off. Now it just hurts. As a great general once said "[W]ar is much more fun when you are winning. Defeat makes my wounds ache." My only consolation is knowing I'm old enough that I may be dead before the whole shebang collapses. Sent at: 2008 07 04
