The interesting question is why Buchanan failed so miserably in his 2000 bid for president as the Reform Party nominee. The Republican Party and the neoconservatives have been successful in distracting conservative whites by promoting fear and hatred of Arabs/Muslims in the "war against Islamo-fascism."
