Russell Kirk deserved better than be attacked by the wolfe-pack - which, whatever its ideology, shows a fanatical self-righteousness, lack of manners and lack of mental acuity. I wish the whole knavish insolence of American "intellectual life" from the Stew Republic (sic) to the Weakly Standard (sic) would just be shown the door by Americans who are sick of the spectacle of publicists attacking some one or another superior individual.
