Message: Entry: The Wonderful, Horrible Summer of 1968 Link: http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/1968_in_the_city_of_lights#24152 Post contents: Your reminiscence of 1968, including Valerie Solanas’s murder of Andy Warhol , makes me remember this wonderful movie. Andy Warhol's movie, "Women in Revolt" was the funniest, most accurate parody of radical feminism that I've seen and still stands the test of time. Having the parts played by transvestites was brilliant. Every critic of the idiocy of "identity" politics ought to check it out. I'm surprised it's still available on Netflix or Amazon, and not completely supressed by today's political correctness. Another great movie is "I ckilled Andy Warhol", which clearly reminds us that Solanas---who is celebrated in places like SF today--was clearly insane. A case of mass insanity would be the best way to describe the counterculturalism that emerged in 1968. As usual, Taki, your commentaries are not only entertaining, but historically valuable to younger folks who didn't really understand that the roots of identity politics and today's Democrat Party are highly questionable.
