As an American of Czech heritage---of a family that remained loyal to the old Hussite values---I was frustrated with what was going on around me in 1968. While the sons of wealth and privilege that formed the backbone of the SDS and countercultural crowd were protesting Nixon's attempt to stand up to Soviet interventionism in Vietnam, the sad story of the Czech people betrayed for the second time by the West, were throwing rocks at Soviet Tanks was ignored in the West.
