Like a slit to the wrists, it slowly bled away the European cultural life-lifeblood through creating a market dependent on novelties. The integralist Carlists have it right: Dios, Patria, Fueros, Rey ! That seems a fairly simple cause that all true conservatives and European men of good will can rally around.
