Message: Entry: Neocons and the Left: Know Your Enemies Link: http://www.takimag.com/site/article/neocons_and_the_left_know_your_enemies#2467 Post contents: I see that Kevin likes to quote the vulgar uninspired attacks of left wing Democrats. But my comments follow those of Burke, who attacked the left of his day for transforming a contended working class into a mob. And no, American students don't face IQ tests as demanding as those in Europe or Japan. Larry Summers (the former president of Harvard, ousted for his observation that women were less likely to excel in the same percentage as men at high level technical fields) is a perfect example that statistical thinking isn't considered just politically incorrect but also immoral. Kevin echoes that irrational viewpoint here, one that he learns not only from the priestly class on TV but no doubt also from local sources. The famous Edmund Burke didn't believe that all men were equal in talents either, but again, this didn't bring into question their common humanity. Kevin may wallow in his hysterical sentimental humanitarianism, but that doesn't make his feelings true, moral or rational. Sent at: 2008 05 16
