However, as others have said, pro-Israel groups have even more more influence than Irish-Americans. Also the consequences to the U.S. are much greater getting involved in the Middle East than in Ireland so it is only right to concentrate on Israel-Firsters. Besides, in 2008 the Irish Troubles are over - or dormant - while the Middle East is in danger of bubbling over.
