Message: Entry: What's Going Right in Europe--How Localism Might Save the Continent Link: http://www.takimag.com/site/article/whats_going_right_in_europe_how_localism_might_save_the_continent#25186 Post contents: Hoermann, "I sympathize with the regional/local people to defend their turf and trying to preserve their culture and way of life. But how does this differ, except in degree, from the Nazi’s mantra of “Germany for the Germans” and their efforts to rid their country of unwanted immigrants with a different culture, e.g. Gypsies and Jews? Or is this a taboo subject?" For starters there is a difference between racism and nationalism aor even regionalism. Jews have been part of Europe for 2000 years. They were at least as German as the Prussians and Schwabians, two Baltics peoples who were Germanicized. The Nazis were not nationalists. They were Pan-Aryanists. Sent at: 2008 07 24
